Request GF Tower Room and NOT gotten it?

Has anyone here ever requested a tower room at the GF and NOT gotten it? I know plenty of people have been lucky and gotten it. If not, how soon in advance did you ask?

I'm guessing that you mean in Sugar Loaf concierge? That would be the only building where it would be considered a request. With all the other lodges, you would actually be booking that exact room. If it is Sugar Loaf, there are only 6 tower rooms and of those, 2 don't have balconies. I don't think it's very common knowledge that you can request this style of room in Sugar Loaf, so I would think you're chances are pretty good.

If you are talking about rooms in Lodge Concierge, then Tammi answered your question. If you were also questioning Lodge Tower rooms in Boca Chica, Conch Cay, Sage Cay, and Big Pine Key, then the answer is that you cannot "request" them. The Tower rooms are a seperate catagory and must be reserved. They are more expensive because they have extra room that is set up as a sitting area. Very convenient, though they only sleep four people. One more thing to think about for those not familiar with Lodge Tower rooms is that they are ALL garden view rooms. There are none that face the lagoon.

If I remember correctly, I will have to check my photos, but there are only 3 tower rooms in Sugar Loaf Key. The building has 4 floors. The first floor of the tower is a service area. Second and third have balconies(we had 3rd floor) and fourth floor has no balcony. All these rooms face the quiet pool area. When we checked in at the concierge we were mistakenly told that our room did not have a balcony, well it did!

Kerri, I thought there were 3 on either side of the lobby, but I could be wrong. If you have photos of the front of the building, you should be able to pick out the rooms easily by the design. Please let us know what you find out.

No, just the 3 Tower rooms. If there were 3 more on the other side of the lobby, they would face the Marina. Which is not the case as far as I know. I cannot post any photos as my computer is a dinosaur that takes hours to upload to a pic sharing site! Still have not posted our vow renewal photos and GF stay from April either...
I have an old hotel brochure for the GF and it clearly shows no tower-like structure in Sugar Loaf other than the one that faces the pool area.
