Maybe this has already been answered in an earlier post, but I didn't scroll thru all 3 pages....I am making sure- this is an on board credit- right?? So we can buy things on the ship with it- does the Disney Club card give you the same discount too??? Or does it actually take MONEY off the cost of the cruise?? Thanks

If anybody has one or more postcards, I have three families that are first timers going on the Magic in June. Your generosity would be appreciated.

Thank You

Darrell

Thank you for the cards. We look forward to the cruise. We're gonna be on the 1st floor. Is there going to be much ship movement down there.:earsboy:

This is going to be our first cruise ever, and can't wait. Me my wife and 4 yr. old Daughter sail July 21st.2002 after 3 days in WDW starting on the 18th. We decided to do the 7 day land & sea crusie. If I do get a post card... thank you.

I just received my 4...send me you address if you would like one..I only have 4.

I tried to use postcard I received from one of the Disboarders. Disney Cruise Line said I could not use it because my rate had already been discounted. If anybody wants to try, I have 2 cards. Post your email address and I'll send them to you. Good Luck.

Getting ready for June 15th Magic. :Pinkbounc

We've already made our reservations for the 2/22/03 Magic cruise, but $50 wouldn't hurt! ;) I can be reached at april@nissens.net. Thanks a bunch!

I just got the postcard in the mail today (from Vicki...thanks!!!) I called Disney Cruise Lines immediately and had no problem having the credit applied for my 3/23/2003 Disney Wonder cruise. Actually, now that I reflect, they never even asked me about the card or the code. I am going to keep the postcard with my cruise documents though just in case I need to show it onboard (if they forget to give me the credit as I have heard happen). Anyone else out there who is interested in the "first-time Disney Cruise" onboard credit should just call and ask for it!!!! You may be pleasantly surprised! If it doesn't work the first time, call again. It seems to be up to the discretion of whoever answers the phone ;)

We're booked on our first Disney cruise for 22/02/03....Would sure appreciate a $50 credit if anyone has a postcard left.

Thanks and "Merci" (lrochford@met-chem.com)

I read, on another thread, that if you are a first time cruiser all you need to do is call Disney and request it. Many of the replies indicated that they had to speak with a couple of different people before they were able to talk with someone that knew about the $50.00 credit. I call my travel agent and had her make the call.
she called me back, a few days later, and told me she was able to get me the credit. You might try this also. Good luck!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Thanks to the person who sent me a postcard - I'm sorry but I forgot your name! :o

I was able to successfully add the $50 shipboard credit to my 2/22/03 Magic booking, but it took a few calls. A bit of advice to other people trying to add this credit, especially with a TA other than Disney: Don't give up! When I first called my TA (Costco), they finally concluded that the code REF was not applicable to 2003 cruises.

But when I called Disney, the phone rep confirmed that the code is definitely good through the end of 2003 - but he would not be able to change my booking, as I had used a different TA! Argh! Finally, when I called Costco again and reached a different agent, having the knowledge that the code was good for my cruise, he was able to call Disney and add the credit! :D

Another note - I didn't receive any guidance from my TA about what to do with the postcard. The rep from Disney told me that my TA or I should send it in, but wouldn't Disney have told that to the TA as well? I guess at this point, I'm planning to hold onto the postcard, and see what happens. Did anyone else actually have to send in the card, or present it in any way - or did the REF code alone take care of it?

Thanks again for the great advice about the cards - I wouldn't have known about it without the DIS boards!

...they didn't even ask me for the code. I just told the Disney Rep that I wanted the "first time cruiser discount" and they said....."okay". I am taking my postcard on the cruise with me just to be sure I have it if I need it, but I sure don't think I will mail it in....then I will have nothing to confirm that I had the card to begin with! I too had to talk to several reps before I found one who had a clue about the discount. The first time I called, the rep said it was not good for cruises in 2003, so I just called again a couple of days later and voila! I think I've got the discount....they said I do anyway ;-)
