Everyone on the boards has been so helpful answering questions as my family close in (six days!) on our Walt Disney World Family Vacation at Saratoga Springs. THANK YOU! I have asked several logistical questions, but now I have simply a anticipatory one:
Has anyone participated in Disney's new "Grand Gatherings" program/promotion -- wherein you have the opportunity to purchase one of four "Magical Experiences" (or so they were called when the Grand Gathering's booking agent explained them to me)?
Our group is a party of 11, so we qualify to purchase one, and we signed up for the "Far East Celebration," or I've also heard it called "Safari Celebration." -- Regardless of the name, it's the dinner/semi-private safari in Animal Kingdom . . . .
Has anyone yet done this Grand Gathering "celebration"? Was it "worth it"? (It was quite an investment.) Did you enjoy it, and will pre-school-aged children?
I believe the program/opportunity is so new, there isn't really a write-up yet on it on the WDW Web site, and Grand Gatherings program as a whole is only briefly mentioned in the 2005 "Official Guide." I bought the "celebration" based solely on the Grand Gathering booking agent pitching it over the phone when I happen to call to book a standard character breakfast. She said it was a character dinner/semi-private safari/chance to meet baby animals up close after dinner. I'm sure it will be lovely -- because it's Disney -- but can anyone offer any details from personal experience?
Thanks!
