"Report/Block this Person" on FB

So...what happens after you click on it?? Is that person notified? Do they not see ANY of my stuff, and vice versa, including "recent activity", friends, mutual friends, etc? Are they "reported" (??) or is that a separate action?

And more importantly, is there a "Report/Block this Person" IRL? Oh, how I wish!

I once had to do this. I received a confirmation back from Facebook that the person had been blocked and that they would investigate. He could no longer access my page or wall. I don't know how Facebook handled it on his side, but I'm sure he realized what had happened the next time he tried to access my page.

I agree that in most cases this would suffice. My case was a bit difference. I had somebody trying to "shake me down". He was trying to get me to give him money. It got to the point where he began to make threats to me if I would not give him money. At the point when the threats began, I felt that the situation became serious enough to report him, rather than simply defriend him. This person lived locally and could easily have easily tracked me down with a simple search of the phone book. I don't take threats lightly. I wanted it known and documented what he was doing.
