Saturday the 15th, USF debuted the new Beetlejuice Rock and Roll Graveyard Review. The format of the show is very similar to the former version, but all of the songs are new. As reported earlier, the Phantom has been eliminated and two new characters (Hip and Hop) have been added. We saw five shows over the weekend and saw two or three actors play just about every character. One of the Brides and one Frank were absolutely outstanding. I'm fairly sure several of the previous casts were retained, but some of the faces were new. Some of the songs included are "I will Survive - Bride" "Living La Vida Loca" - Drac, "YMCA" - BJ, "It's Rainin' Men" - Hip & Hop. I've got a crumby memory, so I'm failing to remember others.

I hope the "iffy" links to my Yahoo site work below. They are shots from the first (noon on Sat) show and one from today.

I watched them on Friday (pre-opening) and the group that was on had very strong vocals. There are four groups of performers for the new show. I have to say that the "Bride" that performed on Friday afternoon was outstanding. I didn't catch her name, but I heard that she did the show in Japan. Her incredible voice is not to be missed.

Well, we'll have to make a stop there Sunday... eh guys?

Here is the song list:

Opening - Rockin' the Paradise/I Wanna Rock & Roll All Night (Bride, Drac, Frank, Wolfie, Beetlejuice)

One Wild Night (Wolfie & Cast)

I Will Survive (Bride)

Medley - YMCA (Beetlejuice), Hot Stuff/It's Raining Men (Hip & Hop & Cast)

Smooth (Frank)

Livin La Vida Loca (Drac & Cast)

Finale - I Wanna Rock & Roll All Night (Cast)

The cast is about 50/50 new & previous, with some of the previous actors playing different roles in the new version (such as "old" Phantoms playing "new" Wolfies, etc.). It's a great group of folks!

Earl, the Friday Bride did indeed do the show in Japan (she was also the Saturday 12noon & 2pm Bride), as did the Saturday 12noon Frank.

Not only did the two brides have excellent voices, they were absolutely smokin' hot (especially the one at yesterday's noon show.)

I suppose we can! The first show usually runs at 11 am, so we can trek over there around 10:30. If the show is later, we can always do some rounds on MIB.
