Has anyone ever had to request a replacement DVC Member card?
My trip is in a month and I just realized I have no idea where it is. I just emailed Member Services because they're closed for the day but I guess I'll try calling them tomorrow and ask, but in the meantime I'm antsy.
Background: My parents first bought DVC memberships in 1992, when I was 13. Both of their names were on the contract, but my Mom was always the one who actually used it or knew anything about it. (My Dad, although he's been to WDW dozens of times and secretly enjoys it, plays grumpy about it.) When I turned 18 my mom added me as an Associate Member so I could go down with my sister and our girlfriends, and book my own reservations.
Mom died last November and since that was basically the only property she owned, we contacted Member Services to transfer ownership completely to Dad. That was allowed because his name was on the original contract - however, ownership can't be transferred to me and my sister without going through probate, which we didn't have the wherewithal to deal with at the time. (Mom died of a heart attack very suddenly at age 61 while on a cruise with Dad, who's 74 - it was quite a shock and I miss her a great deal.)
Anyway, the point is that I'm still an Associate, not a Primary- so I'm hoping they won't give me any trouble about sending me a new card. They can alway send it to Dad and I'll just take it with me. I want to have it so I can buy an Annual Pass with the DVC discount while I'm down there, and I'm pretty sure I need to have the actual card to get the discount.
Anyone have any experiences with requesting a new card?
