What rides do you think need to be updated or replaced?

I belive that they are currently upgrading Star tours, i can't wait to try the new one.
I do think that Jungle Cruise at MK should be replaced as it has been superceedd by the wonderful Killamanjaro Safari at AK.

Any thoughts??

I'm surprised there aren't DIS members outside of "Stitch's Great Escape" picketing.

I disagree with you about Jungle Cruise, it's one of my favourites and I have a secret guilty-pleasure wish to be a skipper one day. :goodvibes

I wish they'd give Ellen's Energy Adventure a facelift. It's just a little... ancient. And the animatronic of Ellen looks like a man. :confused3

I do actually really like the skippers on the Jungle Cruise, I just don't like the old fake animals.

Call me crazy but I still like the Country Bear Jamboree. But it is in some serious need of a facelift. :goodvibes

While my family and I LOVE the Peter Pan ride, it needs some TLC. It seems darker than ever, and the characters could use a make over with some new technology. I would like to see it improved not replaced.

I'm pretty sure that the Jungle Cruise would be considered one of the "sacred attractions" of the Magic Kingdom. Touch it under pain of death.

There are also rumors floating of a new movie with Tim Allen and Tom Hanks based on the Jungle Cruise, so I sincerely doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon.

I could definitely do without Stitch. i'd love to see Alien Encounter put back there, or something new.

Muppets 3D is a cute movie, but it is sooooo outdated. The premise of the movie is look at all the cool things we are doing is in 3D. This can now be seen at any local movie theater.

Jungle Cruise - Leave it right where it is.
Stitch's great escape - Take it far far away
Ellen's Energy - Take it or update it at least
That Drew Carey thing PLEASE TAKE as far away as it can possibly go
Captain EO - Burn the tape or what ever it was saved on

I think there are a number of classic rides that could use a face lift / enhancements

I think what has been going on with the Haunted Mansion (new queue, new ending, etc.) is a perfect example of how to keep rights updated and modern without destroying a classic

Jungle Cruise: Keep the concept as is, but new and better annimatronics would help - maybe something cool for the cave parts

Peter Pan: Same idea -> new animatronics and just freshen the whole thing up

Speedway: Change the cars to be more modern, maybe hybrids, or maybe even a cool new technology that you can't do at home like maglev or similar

EPCOT Future World: This might be a little controversial, but I think the whole area needs a face ift ... What was futuristic architecture in the 80's just looks stale and out of style

.. I am sure there are many other - but just seeing the footage of how good the animatronics that will be used in the VOTLM ride, it seems like employing that on existing attractions would make them seem better, new, and modern but without compromising what makes them great

I agree. I think FW looks barren and cold between the "futuristic" buildings and empty buildings/spaces. I could walk around MK and WS forever just looking around, but don't care for FW at all. (I think the same about the exterior of Space Mountain but since its a classic, it can stay.)

Captain EO needs to go and never come back and that theater it's in should be completely refurbished. Ellen's Energy Adventure should at least be updated if not scrapped all together. Personally I'd like to see a 4D or 3D show themed around the recent TRON: Legacy film be put in one of those locations, replacing EO or Ellen. I think a TRON attraction would fit perfectly at EPCOT.

We still love it but it could be updated. I think something was done to it several years ago.

I love the Jungle Cruise because I love the corny jokes. They crack me up every time. Every time. I do agree the fake animals need to be updated.

I think Stitch should, quite possibly, be burned.

The Speedway has been surpassed by your local amusement park and needs to go. Heck, bumper cars are more exciting than that ride.

Ellen's Energy Adventure is far too didactic. Surely the creative minds at Disney could imagine more interesting ways to communicate that information?

I will also add that if I never have to climb the Swiss Family Treehouse again, I'd be happy. So borrring. (My dh loves it.) I wish there was something more interactive about it -- even if it was a carnival-type swings ride from the tree branches.

Add me to get rid of stitch club. I did this once with my friends on grad night & we all came out laughing and all agreed to never ever do it again. We then realized why it was a walk on ride that night.

This is from a conversation with my cousin. She went with me to HS and then again to MK.

My last trip was Sept. 2009...

As we were walking out of Star Tours with my DS, I said this ride is one of my faves but it would be so cool if...(cousin cuts me off at this point and says IT WERE IN 3D)....totally finishing my sentence.....
Then on my last full day there(Saturday) We took our kids to MK. Walking around Fantasyland she says, its cool and all but I think it could use a little updating... We argued about it a bit(not a heated argument) and I said that some could use some updating but I liked Fantasyland as it is. The whole kind of Medievel period theming....I don't know...I like it.
Now she does not do Disney like I do. She lives 2 hours away and has only taken her kids that one time and does not keep up with what goes on there....
My family left on Sunday. On Monday, Thats when they dropped the whole expansion project on the NEWS! I was like OMIGOD I HAVE TO CALL HER NOW! Then I found out about the Star Tours Refurb and was like "OK this is weird..." When I told my cousin she was like "Man I heard about 'Big Brother' watching you, but Disney listening to you?!" She and I were totally floored by the fact that we had no clue that Disney was going to do this while we were having our conversation....

As for updating rides these are ones that I think need it:
STITCH HAS GOT TO GO....
The speedway should be converted into a CARS themed attraction...I don't know I think my kids would get a better kick out of riding McQueen instead of waiting in line for a picture with him.
Country Bears is just kind of well, LAME...

And of course Future World at EPCOT....Uhmmm Hello...Its 2011 not 1982!!!:rotfl2:

Call me crazy but I don't mind Stitch! I like seeing everyones reactions when he burps and spits. Last time it didn't smell though..

I agree with Captain EO. I would rather have nothing there than Captain EO! Jungle Cruise is okay because of the boat ride but yes the animals need updated. The Drew Carey thing needs to go, yes! I don't ever even think its open! i really like the dinosaur part on Ellen and I really like Ellen but it is not an every trip thing. Glad they are getting rid of Snow White because that is one of the most outdated rides!

Since no one else has mentioned it I may be the only one to feel this way. I don't like the Pooh ride. My kids get bored with it. It was just another ride with cardboard pictures. I wish they would have made it like the characters in splash mountain.
