Rep.Stark (D) Should apologize!

WASHINGTON, D.C. Ð House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement regarding remarks made on the House floor by Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) during the debate on the State ChildrenÕs Health Insurance Program (SCHIP):

"Our troops in Iraq are fighting against al-Qaeda and other radical jihadists hellbent on killing the people we are sent here to represent. Congressman StarkÕs statement dishonors not only the Commander-in-Chief, but the thousands of courageous men and women of AmericaÕs armed forces who believe in their mission and are putting their lives on the line for our freedom and security. Congressman Stark should retract his statement and apologize to the House, our Commander-in-Chief, and the families of our soldiers and commanders fighting terror overseas."

During debate on the SCHIP children's health care legislation today, Rep. Stark stated: "You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement."

He was expressing his anger at an administration that seems hell bet to spend billions for an unnecessary war that has killed and maimed thousands of our children but refuses to pass a spending bill to insure children.

That was a sentence of his own construction from a speech about expanding the S-CHIPs program.

Apologize for what? Having an opinion? I say Busch is a complete idiot just about every day. Should I apologize? Millions upon millions of people around the world say it as well. His statement doesn't make much sense so I'm not sure whom he would have to offer an apology to, if he did.

He is expressing the anger that many AMericans are feeling.

He is not disrespecting the troops. He is pissed at the President for entering into a war of choice, poorly equipt, poorly staffed, and thouroughly unable to handle the aftermath of the war. We are stuck in a quagmire that will drain us financially for decades. The innocent loss of life of Iraqis and Americans will continue.

Yeah he is angry. I am too.

He went on to say that we dont have 200 million for our children but you have 200 million to fight the war, where is that comming from? Are you going to tell us more lies.

The congresman was very pasionate about what he was saying and stumbled his speech a bit. Really now with the winners bush as come out with are we going to bash this guy for saying something that made perfect sence just came out in a bit of a run on sentence?

How does saying that kids are not getting proper heath care and troops are getting killed a rapid rate equate to the troops are being bashed and disrespected? It does not in any way shape or form. But this is comming from the party that if you dont fall all over Bush and agree with everything he does you are not a real american. Save it, only people buying it are the bush supporters.

Oh and Ill agree bush is being bashed and I dont see a problem with that, he did it to himself
