Reopened Disney Store and meet Mickey....

Although mnay Disney stores in my area have been closed, the one closest to my home got remdoled thsi summer. I thought that was odd since so many are closing. They reopened it up thsi week and had Mickey and Minnie at the mall for pictures yesterday. The wait was 45 minutes! (Of course, we waited!) I thought the old store was cooler with the moving littel charcters up top goinga roudn the store and in the windows. Now it is juts a huge movie screen in the window running black and whites of Mickey. It was packed and too hard to walk around and check out if they had anything new, but it looked like it was the usual that they had before. very little adult, mostly kid stuff. The Halloween costumes were up front taking up a lot of room. I'll go back later thsi week and check it out whiel my oldest is in school.

Wow, we almost drove over to Towne Center yesterday, but we decided to stay over here and just visit our old faithful store at Gwinnett Mall. I would have loved to have seen the characters though....and we don't even have kids. lol I hope to see TDS over there near you soon. I am curious to see what the new look does for the feel of the store. Thanks for the report! Mickey

the manager at our DS in houston(baybrook mall area) told us that there will be more adult stuff in the future. woohoo!

Same scenario, the store nearest our home closed a month or two ago, but this one was remodeled (they were able to expand to the space next door). I was disappointed in the store. It's much bigger, but still didn't have ANYTHING to grab our attention.

We did find some "for my teacher" beanies, but the line to check out was 40 people deep (an orderly snake line, but way too long to spend $20).

Ya, I had soemthing in my hand to buy cause they were handing out 20% off coupons, but the line to buy was so long I skipped it.
