Renting / Transferring Points

I may need more points for an upcoming vacation. I'd really rather not rent points, it just seems like such a pain to do. Can points be transferred in a transaction where the person with the points gets paid similar to renting them? I'd just much rather have control of the points.

Yes you can arrange with another member to have points transferred into your account. The Home Resort Rules and Regulations you agreed to when you purchased do not allow payment for a points transfer.

Any transferred points retain their home resort and use year. And you are limited to one transfer in or out a Use year.

Speaking of transferring or needing extra points..if you are short points and don't have any to borrow from the upcoming year, is there a way you can "buy" needed points from diirectly from Disney when you make your reservation or is the only way to get additional points is by transferring or renting from another member?

DVC recently added the ability to buy extra points for a reservation. I think they are $15 / point and you are limited to 24 extra points to buy a year.
