Renting Special Needs Stroller from Off Site

I've read the FAQ on the disabilities board and saw there are a few places that offer rentals of the MacClaren.

My question...has anyone rented from these places? If so, which one(s)...and more importantly, were you satisfied with everything (delivery, condition of stroller, etc.)

We just came back from WDW with my 8yo DS who has Down syndrome. We used the double stroller in each park. That worked out fine, however, in hindsight wish we'd gotten a GAC to use stroller as wheelchair. As DS was not able to stand for any length of time, and my poor husband had to end up holding him while we waited. And, my son isn't getting any smaller.

As we're already planning a trip in 2009, thinking about renting from offsite, and will definitely get GAC to use stroller as wheelchair.

We don't actually make any recommendations, but for a company to be listed in the FAQ we first have several people commenting about having used the service without problems, and there are no major subsequent and recurring complaints.

No direct experience renting a SN stroller yet, but on the family board someone reviewed an offsite stroller rental co. that is now carrying a SN stroller, link to thread here:

We rented a double from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com in Sept. As we were preparing to go, I spoke to Shannon (the owner) several times, and told her that she should really think about adding a special needs stroller to her product line, as there were a lot of families like ours w/ kids who had special needs but didn't need a stroller day to day...

Well, I couldn't believe when she did research and added the Baby Jogger Liberty last month.!!!!! Talk about listening to clients!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful baby jogger strollers are. We have the ATS (b/c it goes up to 75 lbs. it's still big enough for us most of the time- and the kids have short stature, so no worries there) We rented Shannon's Baby jogger double for this trip and it was so easy to use to.

Almost weightless, one hand turn, ohhh so nice. I would recommend Shannon and her company to anyone and everyone, awesome service, went above and beyond for us!

We rented a MacLaren Major from Discount Mobility. It was waiting at our hotel when we arrived. The condition was OK, but the footrest kept falling off. There was no sunshade, and it didn't have a stroller bag/basket for storage. We'd rent from them again in a pinch, but we're hoping our insurance will pay for one since it seems we will be needing one for more frequent use.
