Renting points....

I have a question regarding a reservation for rent. We have a couple rooms for later this year that we will not need. When I post on the rent/trade board do I put them in one posting (they are for same time frame) or 2 postings. I know you can't post too many times and I want to be sure to get it correct. A couple family members dropped out of our party, hence the reason for renting.

They could be posted in the same post, but still you are limited to two total Reservation for Rent offering per calendar year. Remember that under our posting rules you can not offer them more than 30 days prior to the check-in date. That is 30 literal days, not a simple calendar month (some months have 31 days). This coincides with the day that the points would go into holding status if you cancelled the rooms.

For the people that put points up for rent this question is for you. Do you require full payment at the time of booking or do you allow full payment say 90 days or 120 days prior to check in?

Reason I ask is I'm looking for a *** rental but won't have the full payment until **** or **** (2 to 3 months prior to check-in) . Just wondering if thats taboo or if it's ok to ask...

It depends on the owner. If the reservation is not that far out, they may want full payment to make the reservation. If it is longer out, many will want at least half to make the reservation and the rest at a later date.

You just need to ask an owner if they will accept your terms or not.
