Renting points and Free Dining Plan

Hi, we went to WDW for the free dining plan last year and it was great knowing we didn't have to budget for food. I'm thinking about coming down again this year, and would really like to rent points from a DVC'er to stay at BCV. Is it possible to rent points and get the dining plan for free?

No. As a renter, you can purchase the DDP, but we don't get the free dining.

Thanks for the info. I guess it would be too much to ask to get free dining and a great place to stay at a fraction of the cost.

No taxes when you rent points also.

Members don't get the free dining plan when staying on points either.

In order to get free dining during that period, you have to pay rack rate. If you use points, you are not paying rack rate.

Free dining requires a package with tickets and purchase of a Disney resort room at rack rate booked through Disney reservations.

DVC members can get the paid Dining plan by contacting Member Services when staying with points.

Certainly DVC members can get the Free Dining if they wish to; by doing what is required to purchase it as I noted above but not while staying at DVC using points.

IMHO ... If you like the dining plan, it is still a good deal even if you have to pay for it.

The free dining plan package requires the purchase of rooms at rack rate.

DVC members can get discounts on cash reservations at DVC resorts (subject to availability), but we don't get discounts at non-DVC resorts.
