Hi,

We are thinking of buying a camper. So before we do we want to try one out down in disney. Instead of driving one down from NY we want to fly down and rent one. Does anyone know where you would be able to rent things that may not come with a rented motorhome??
Do all the camsites have picnic tables?
Thanks

Yes, all campsites have picnic tables.

What sort of things are you thinking of renting? Most rentals will come with the pots and pans. I believe you need sheets and towels. I have seen some RV rental places that will rent things like sheets and towels too though. There is a fee so it may be cheaper just to buy some cheap ones at WM. As for plates and such, I would just buy some paper ones at WM after you arrive.

What else are you looking for?

If you end up doing this, please post. I'm interested in how it works out. thanks.

Last April our travel trailer was completly destroyed. We did not know what to do since we had an upcoming reservation. So we decided to go to Lazy Days (across the state from us) and buy another travel trailer. We found one we liked on the internet and put a deposit on it. Our plans were to pick it up at Lazy Days in a week (the day before our Disney trip) and drive to the FORT the very next day.

Well, when we got to Lazy days were were disapointed. They promised it would be prepped and ready to go. But it was not. WE also noticed the roof was warping and the seals did not look tight. Also the bedroom looked much smaller in person than it did on the internet. So, we felt uncomfortable and did not buy it. As we were leaving Lazy Days we did not know what to do. Do we turn around and drive 3 hours home or go to Disney anyway? We tried to switch our reservation from a campsite to a hotel room but there wern't any available. WE just did not know what to do. But then......I HAD AN IDEA!!!!!

I called 411 and got the number of RV rental places in the area. I got lots of prices but most of them had weird prices and policies. Also, most would not rent to us last minute. But Orlando RV Rentals had no problem dropping a class C motorhome off at the Fort for us. They met us at our site, backed it in, plugged us in and we were set! We rented it for 5 days. It was so great that a few weeks after our trip we bought our own 2007 Coachman Freelander Class C! WE LOVE IT! Thanks Orlando RV RENTALS!!!!!! Here is the number 407 327-7188:woohoo:

If you tell them you are not planning on leaving the site then they should give you a discount, since you are not putting any miles on it. Also, my husband and I are CLEAN FREAKS and the one we rented was just like new. I know they have a class C's and clas A's.

Wow..that is interesting. I've been trying to get my husband to make the trip with our travel trailer for years..but I must admit he is not so thrilled with the idea of towing from NY to Fla. and he doesn't really have the kind of time he'd want to tow it off from work. For the most part we are seasonal in a camping resort, and tow occasionally....but never that kind of distance. I've been giving some serious thought to this option also..that is renting a travel trailer, and having it placed on site in FW. I much prefer the camping loops as opposed to cabins, as I just didn't care for their location. Renting a unit is certainly something to consider. I'd also like to hear from anyone who has done this and what their experience was like.;)

I am also interested in everyones experience. We live 150 miles from the Fort and am thinking of renting our fifth wheel for others to vacation in. I am looking for any information on rentals and other dis'ers experiences with rental companies.
