Question, just rented a car for week I'm in Disney, in June. I will be staying at Marriott vista, and going to universal and Disney. Do I need a toll pass from Rental car company?Or can I just pay if any tolls with cash?

I don't think any of the tolls between the airport and Disney are cashless. There are some that are unmanned. These will have an exact change lane. Bring a few dollars in quarters with you and you should be ok without the electronic tag.

Toll passes offered by the rental company are not mandatory.

There is only one section of toll road that absolutely requires electronic toll passes and that is in the Miami area.

The toll pass systems vary from one rental company to another. One company has a box similar to the Sunpass on the windshield and you need to manually turn it off (or on) as desired.

At some toll plazas including on 417 (Greene's Way) you must go down what looks like an exit ramp to use cash when paying the toll.

Some Greenway exits are unattended - be sure to have coins with you!

But the other posters are right, not a requirement to use Sunpass or toll-by-plate lanes between the Airport, WDW, and Universal.

The rental companies may pressure you to use their toll billing option. If you go through any unmanned toll-by-plate lanes the rental company gets the bill and they will put it on your bill.. plus a dollar or two for their handling, of course.

A frequent visitor can get their own Sunpass by mail, then decline and use their own.. but you must register your rental car's plate as soon as possible on arrival.

Take a roll of quarters and you will be fine. You don't need a toll pass.

Sounds great, I will just take plenty of change..tx u so much for all your help!

If you find yourself accidentally on a toll road (as my husband managed to do trying to get from OKW to a Publix) with an unmanned booth but without any change, look for envelopes. DH picked up an envelope at that tollbooth that allowed you to pay.

We got a check in the mail inside the week, it was eventually cashed, and we never heard from them or National, I assume because we got it in to them faster than they could alert National.

I assume you're staying at Marriott's Grande Vista Resort near Sea World.

From the airport entrance to westbound Florida-528 to the International Drive exit, you will encounter two tolls. You can pay by cash. One is $1.25. The other is $1.00. The toll-taker can make change, so you don't need a pocket full of coins. You can ask for a receipt if you wish.

Watch the toll road signs carefully. The cash toll plazas involve bearing off to the right, almost as if you're exiting from the toll road.

If you miss a cash toll plaza, your rental car's license plate number will usually trigger your rental car company's automatic toll payment service, with a associated "convenience fees." Depending on your rental car company, you could pay a substantial fee.

There are no tolls between Marriott's Grande Vista Resort and Disney, Universal, or Sea World parks. So you won't have to deal with tolls again until you return to the airport.

Yes grande vista resort, thank you..very helpful. From what I read , if I don't pay the toll the convenience fee is 15 dollars.. Seems crazy!

I have rented with both Avis and Thrifty the past couple of years. Declining the pass from Thrifty was difficult at the very least, agent was trying her best to up sell/cross sell anything she could. Agent seemed very annoyed that I didn't see the value in paying $65 for a ten day rental. Be aware, they are good at their job!:scared:

The Avis desk was (almost) pressure free, a little more pleasant.

The 528 between MCO and I-4 has the toll plazas and Cash lanes well marked but the cash lanes leave the main road.

I rented a car in January and didn't feel pressured to purchase the Sun Pass. In fact, I don't think the car rental guy even brought it up!

At any rate, OP, the toll roads near Disney are similar to toll roads everywhere else in the country...some will ask for exact change, and some will be manned and will give you change back. Just take a container of change as you would driving on any toll road and you'll be fine.
