Renting Car/luggage

We decided to rent a car after reading a lot about bus issues at POR. So, we won't be taking ME. Can we still have them deliver our luggage to POR or is that only if you ride ME?

You have to ride There is a sticky about this under Transportation if you are interested. I just read it today

We ride DME to the resort, then the following morning pick up a rental car with Alamo or National at the Disney car care center.
You have to have at least one member of your family ride the bus so your voucher is scanned by the DME staff.

I tried this too. ME explained that until you activitate your ticket for the bus by checking in at the airport they don't get your luggage and when you board the bus that tells them to load the luggage for the resort on the baggage truck. My guess is so that sometimes luggage arrives but people miss their planes - Disney does not want to haul luggage out to the resort unless the person linked to that piece of luggage shows up.

Thanks for the info. We will stop and get our luggage. After I posted this, I searched and found a thread on the same subject. Ooohhh, that thread got a little heated!
