Renting a confirmed reservation

I'm not really sure where to post this exactly, so I'm putting it here. I am in the process of renting a confirmed reservation for a Poly villa through DVC Rental Store and have already signed the contract and paid my deposit. Those of you who have experience with this (either as the member or the renter), how long does it typically take for the reservation to be transferred to the renter's name? I know the member has to actually call and do this and it may depend on how busy they are, but since this is my first time, I'm just curious (and admittedly a little nervous).

Also, when booking a confirmed reservation, is there ever a possibility that they will come back and say they couldn't transfer it or complete the reservation for whatever reason (after you've locked it in by paying a deposit)? I know when you are just renting points, it is subject to availability, but this is an actual reservation, so that shouldn't be an issue, right?

My trip is in May, so it's not extremely urgent or anything, but I feel like I can't relax until I have my reservation # and can see it in MDE. lol
 
When we have rented, pretty much as soon as the owner added us as the guests on the reservation, we could link the reservation number in our MDE.

The rental agency will give the owner the names, then it’s on them to call/chat MS to make the change. I’m sure that time varies but always been within a day or 2 for us. Owner gets the first part of their money once that’s done so hopefully they’re motivated :)

For confirmed res there shouldn’t be any availability issue, just changing the names on the res that’s already locked in. Relax, it will be fine!

Ok thank you. I signed and paid the deposit on Friday. I know we just had the weekend so that can affect things so I'm hoping I hear something today or tomorrow. DVC Rental Store has been extremely responsive and easy to work with so hopefully the member is motivated to get it done. :)
 
They don't have to call, they can do it in chat. It shows up instantly. Change the lead guest on chat, add the rest online. This is a five minute discussion.

If it's not done in a few days, maybe Wednesday, I would follow up. You deserve to have this done quickly.

If this isn't done in a week, I would start to think something funny is going on. And yes, they could have canceled it or sold the contract or whatever, and you would have no way to know that. They probably didn't, but the solution here is to make you lead guest, like you should be.

Thank you. Hopefully we don't run into any problems, but these are the kinds of things my anxiety makes me think about. I just didn't know if they had a reservation listed with DVC Rental Store if they were contractually obligated to not mess with it until rented. But either way, I'm sure everything is fine. I'm juts a worrier.

Glad that it’s all sorted, just as a FYI, the DVC website went down for maintenance on Friday 1/20 & when it came back it was a mess, existing reservations weren’t showing & they had to take the site down again, so your owner likely had to wait for the Disney/DVC IT issues to be fixed to make the change.
