Renting a Car From the Resorts

A while ago I was reading about somebody who used the MYW Express from the airport and then rented a car from the resort. Has anybody out there done that?? And who did you go through?? Did it save you money??

We did this, rented through National at the Dolphin. We really only needed the car for a few days, so this saved us a lot of money (plus you don't have to pay the airport concession fees at the Dolphin).

There are 2 places on-site to rent from National or Alamo: the Car Care Center near MK, which I've heard offers shuttle service to/from your resort, and in the lobby of the Dolphin resort. I use National all the time (usually can get the cheapest rate thru them) and have used the Dolphin site - very easy to access from either Epcot ot MGM via walking or the Friendship boats.

We're staying at OKW in February and have rented a van the day after we arrive. Will Alamo come and pick you up or do you have to make your own way over to the Dolphin to retrieve the rental?

I've never rented from Alamo, but I think only the Car Care Center has shuttles since it's unaccessible by any other mode of transportation. The Dolphin is easy to get to from any park - just take a bus or boat to the Dolphin resort!!!
