Renting a Bike for length of stay

For those who have rented bikes...

I've found online that you can rent a bike for about $20 a day... but can you rent it for the length of your stay? In other words, can I rent the bike on Monday and return it on Thursday for $80(ish)? Or do I have to rent it Monday, return it Monday, rent again Tuesday, return again Tuesday... etc?

If I can rent for length of stay, do I need to bring a bike lock, or do they provide?

It's been forever since I rented a bike but the last time I did so, you had to turn it in the same day.

If you're going to have a car available (and I'm serious about this) there's a Wal-Mart not too far from the Fort & you can buy a cheap bike for about the same $$$$ you'll rent one for - maybe less. When your vacation is over, just give the bike to another camper on the loop and tell them to give it away to the next person when they're done with it. A couple of years ago, several Dis-er's did this and said they felt great when the bikes were passed on to the next family. Just a thought.

LOVE the idea... but won't have a car.

If only they had inflatable bikes that I could fly with...

How about ordering a bike online and having it delivered to The Fort.

I rented a bike for a day (great fun) and they thought I was crazy when I asked for a lock and no, they don't provide them. There was a thread awhile ago about bikes getting stolen or borrowed. Next time I think I'd use a lock just to avoid any inconvenience. Don't want to waste any time while at the fort!
