I am so sorry to be posting this as I usually do my own research but we are having a family emergency and I was hoping someone can help me quickly. I am looking for a cheap rental car to pick up at the Orlando airport on 12/20 and can be dropped off anytime after that at Port Saint Lucie, or somewhere close to there. I got a one day rental for $130 but I am hoping if maybe I extend the days it might get cheaper. He is going to be there until January 18th so I know we cannot afford for him to have a rental car that long. I was thinking maybe a couple of days.

My DH has to fly to FL for a family emergency as his niece is having open heart surgery and his dad is on his death bed. We got airfare tickets, but now I just need help on the transportation costs. TIA :goodvibes

Your best bet if he needs a car is to book the cheapest one way, airport to airport as possible and then do a second, rental that will be a normal same pickup/drop rental. One way rentals do not benefit from extended stays.

If you are only looking to do the one way, unfortunately, with tight fleets at rental agencies, they don't like their cars moving around and will charge more to do so. This is even more true as you approach Christmas.
