Rental Car

We are planning on staying on site and using the Magical Express from the Airport. But we would like to rent a car for a few days to take a break and possibly drive over to Daytona. Anyone have any experience renting a car in middle of trip? How do you go about getting to the rental agency?

There is a National car rental at the service station at the MK. It is very efficient and we got a great deal for our rental car. Take a look at the National website.

They have a bus that will pick you up at your resort and take you to the service center do the same when you drop the vehicle off.

I highly recommend it.

I've done this before.
National Rent-a-Car has a rental counter in the WDW Dolphin resort.

Arranged in advance, took the Swan/Dolphin bus from any theme-park to the Dolphin, walked in, signed, and picked up my car outside.
Return was the same simple process.

There are also budget at Doubletree downtown disney and ALamo at disney, so don't limit yourself to just National. Budget and Alamo both came up signifiantly cheaper than National ($150) this trip. A perk is that it was also cheaper renting at wdw than the airport. We are renting on the 3rd day of our trip at Budget. Go to mousesavers for lots of codes-this really saved us bucks.

I have rented a car vfrom Alamo in the past and their onsite location works great. It is just inside the gates to MK and they have a shuttle that will pick up/drop off anywhere on property.

I have had some service issues with Alamo in the past but lately they have been excellent. Mostly not having the car I reserved at the price I confirmed. Just call and confirm your reservation.

Also another hint is that you can get good deals thru costco.com.
