If I book a rental car for our trip via Costco travel and a better rate comes out can I cancel and book a better rate or can I cancel all together if we decide to go with a shuttle service instead? Has anyone found any hidden or extra fees when you pay at the counter that is not disclosed on Costco travel's webpage?

Super easy to cancel and rebook, multiple times if necessary. I've never encountered hidden or extra fees that related to booking through Costco.

I just a booked a intermediate SUV for $190 what are the hidden fees?

It does not sound like there are any with Costco. I was just making sure because this summer I rented a car via Priceline for a stay in San Francisco and when I paid for the car it was about $80 dollars more then I had paid for via Priceline. I was making sure people did not have the same experience via Costco travel.

Thank you all for your help! Do you have to call and cancel or can it be done online?

You can cancel online. I hate having to call, so I appreciate that.

No extra fees, very easy to cancel and rebook

We've rented through Costco before, although not in DL. No other fees. Very easy to use.

I agree with everyone else :) we have used costotravel.com the past 3 years. This year alone I think I have cancelled and rebooked at least 15 times in the past 2 months. super simple all done online when I saw a cheaper rate. No hidden fees, what you see on the site is all taxes and fees included and that's the price you pay when you arrive, unless of course you need to add something while at the car rental place.

To be honest, you don't even need to cancel, just don't pick up the car. When you book your car with Costco, you don't prepay or give a credit card number, just your costco number.

We used costco travel to rent a car last week. It was our first time using Costco and I was also skeptical that there would be some sort of charge because the rate was so low.

Not only was the rate the exact same, they bumped me up to a luxury car because they were out of full-size cars. So, we got a luxury car for 8 days for $96.45 (not a typo) My prior booking, that I thought was a good deal, was for $280!

I chose Budget through Costco and the only downside was that I did not get to choose my car like I would at National. For those kind of savings, I don't care about what car I drive as long as it is the same class or above.
