Bcv moved from studio to resort rooms

If they call is an option to just cancel and be refunded the points? If so, do they put them in holding? I'd imagine if I went from say 1 BR VGF to a studio at SSR I'd be more inclined to just cancel the trip...

We weren’t called, we were told when I went to the desk on arrival at about 9pm and still hadn’t received my room number yet. (We had a later flight and some stops on the way.) But the points they refunded didn’t go into holding.
 
Let’s assume that was the only option, staying at SSR instead.
Members like me and many others just can’t cancel and decide not to go, because you aren’t informed until you arrive at the resort, what should you do then? Sleep in your car? 🙈
Even if they did inform you 1-2 days before, I still have airfare I can’t get refunded but I might be able to find something offsite but still the price would not be in my favor.

Of course canceling isn’t always an option. But, on the flip side, things can happen that take a room out of service and they do their best.

The cost for when this happens comes from the budget. It’s built in to the system and why DVD can’t sell 100% of all the points at a resort.

Now, I do think that asking someone to move from a 1 bedroom to a hotel room should come with a point reimbursement or, like in this case, CL services…
