Yikes! That seems high! Of course, if the fees include all of the insurance coverage, its probably about right. But I'd check to be sure you need National's supplemental coverage, or if you have coverage from your own insurance.

No insurance included in that quote. I'll have to go back and see what the
fees were for. I'll post later.

Check Dollar, they have a great code out, it's listed on Mousesavers. I think it's the last one on the list. The Dollar desk is at the airport, we have used them 6 times in the last four years, they're wonderful!

Does anyone have advice on renting at Tampa? I am in Nationals Emerald Club but I am not sure I want to take a shuttle. They have the best rate so far. Has anyone used the shuttle? How long does it take?

We just took the shuttle to National at Tampa in January. The ride was very quick. It took about 5 minutes. It was great. Same back to the airport. Hope this helps.

Do you take your luggage with you or did someone wait with it for you to come back with the rental? We are staying for about 2 weeks so we will have lots of luggage!

We took our luggage with us. Two medium/two small suitcases. From the time we chose the car to the time we left the lot was about 10 minutes(Emerald Reserve). There was one car ahead of us at the booth. Also,the shuttle left the airport as soon as we got on, I don't know how long it had been waiting. I would guess about 20-25 min. if you wait for someone to get the shuttle and come back for you. Maybe 5-10 minutes more if the shuttle sits there and finding your way back to pick up whoever is waiting. HTH.

(My kids love this guy. They insisted I include him.)
