My AP is set for renewal on the 29th of November. Last year I was in WDW and renewed during that time. This year I'm heading to WDW early in November (& won't have the extra money at that time to renew then). How does renewal work if you are not on-property to do this? Can you mail the payment? Does it need to be post-marked no later than the renewal date? Do they send you a renewal letter and an address to send the payment to? Is there any type of grace period? What I mean is if they receive the payment a couple of days after the renewal date, will the payment be returned or (if you are not on-property) allow a little flexibility with this? Once you have renewed, do they send you a new pass in the mail or do you have to wait to get the new pass until the next time you are on-property? Do they send you a confirmation in the mail indicating that the payment has been received and the pass has been renewed?

They will send you a renewal letter, you should be getting it any time. You can mail a check or you can call and pay by credit card over the phone. You will receive a voucher. When you exchange it, they will give you a new pass expiring November 29, 2005. I believe there's a 30 day grace period to order the voucher (but the expiration date will be the same).

Depending when your next trip is planned, you may want to consider if you want to forgo the 10% renewal discount and get a new annual pass on your next trip. That way it will start on the date of your next visit.

::yes:: That's what we do! For example, ours expire November 2. BUT, we won't be back until June. Makes no sense to pay the renewal just to get the newsletter, so we'll let them lapse and pay the "new" price in June. :)

Thanks for the info. I won't be going back again until October of 2005 (I do this trip once a year), so waiting until I go on the next trip to get a new pass would make sense. I never thought of doing that. This way, I can save the $$ through the year to pay for that and the rest.

I will say though that this year I or my friend did not even recieve the renewal letter! We live here so it was no problem. On the same note for my trip in Oct. and my upcoming one is Dec. at the WL I have yet to recieve a confirmation letter although I have received many welcome packages but nothing that states my actual hotel dates. I think Disney has gotten a little lax in their correspondence, Everytime you call and make reservations they ask you all sorts of questions but for some reason it sits out their in limbo.

Can you upgrade your annual pass when it is time to renew it? Or do you have to pay the full price for the upgraded pass?

I *think* they'll let you do it. I seem to remember going from Seasonal to Regular one year, and think we paid the renewal price. BUT....don't quote me on that! :)

If you currently have a regular AP that is nearing expiration and you wish to get a PAP for your next pass, you will be allowed to do it at the PAP renewal price provided you renew within the 30 day time frame. Same thing goes for anyone looking to reverse the procedure - going from a PAP to a regular AP at renewal.
