Renaissance World Gate

We stayed there last March with Priceline for $35 and it was great. The room was a nice size, with a garden tub, a fridge, and the storage space wraps around the window area. There were two pools and a hot tub. The hotel is also really close to all the restaraunts. You could probably walk to the IHOP. I don't know about the shuttle though because we drove down to fla. The hotel is not far from the mk exit either.

I didn't use the shuttle either, but my DD and I met a very nice family at the pool who were depending solely on the shuttle and they were very happy with it. They had a three year old little boy and I can't remember is they said they took a midday break for sure, but I am thinking they did. So a secondhand opinion, but there you go. I am just too fond of flexibility to depend on somebody else's schedule. Heck, I even park onsite at the state fair so I don't have to worry about bus schedules!

I know this thread is about a month old, but I just wanted to add to the other posters here and say, for the price, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance WorldGate. The rooms were clean and we had a top floor awesome view of all the Disney firework shows at night! I got it for $40 through PriceLine. I probably overbid after looking at the bids on the biddingfortravel boards, but it was still a fantastic deal for an October stay (during Halloween). We too drove to FL, so we didn't make use of the shuttle. My understanding was that they only made one dropoff (at Epcot maybe?) and that you would have to use Disney transportation if you needed to get to a different park. So, I guess if you do use the free shuttle, you just want to make sure you time it right. Also, if you end up renting the car, be sure to ask about the oft mentioned "secret entrance" to Disney. It's not really secret at all, but more of a locals only road that will probably get you to the park entrances quicker than the main routes, especially during the peak season.

Good luck!

Was there afew years ago when it was the Doubletree Orlando Resort and Conf Center. Nice place for the money. The rooms are nicely appointed with way more drawer space than you'll need :). Pool is certainly adequate and the hotel is tucked far enough away from the rt. 192 traffic noise. I'd miss those great warm chocolate chip cookies you get a d'tree check in though! :)
