Hi! First time cruiser. My wife and I currently have Remy booked on the last night of our four night cruise. We are pretty excited about the experience, but we also are big into theatre. We are also looking forward to the shows on board. I have heard in particular that Disney's Believe is very good. I am concerned that this show will end up as the last show of the cruise. We have a 6pm Remy reservation, and I don't know if we can make the 8:30pm show. Should I move our reservation to a different night, with maybe not as good of a show?

Thanks for the help!

I haven't eaten at Remy but have at Palo a couple of times and I budget 1 1/2 hours for a Palo Brunch. 2 1/2 hours seems like lots of time but I could be wrong. If you keep your reservation I would try to go up 15 mins early as possibly they can seat you earlier?

If the option is there to book a different night I'd do that so that you're not clock watching and can enjoy your dinner.

You should check which night of your cruise is pirate night. It will mention it where you can sign up for port adventures and dining. I would move the dinner to that night. The show that night is the pirates takeover on the deck by the pool. This way you know you won't be missing one of the broadway style shows.

Thanks for advice! I was only budgeting 3 hours because it said our reservation was from 6-9pm. Going to an early show is an option! Maybe we can move our Remy dinner to 7:30 or 8pm and see the show first!

Is there a way to see the navigator for your sailing before hand? Pirate night is the Castaway Cay day, I know that much from reservations. When is the first show of the evening?

I did not like Believe (too kids oriented, we liked the Golden Mickeys more)... but I suggest you put Remy after 7:30 if you wanna make sure you can see it. Your dinner might last from 2 to 3 hours.

I'd keep Remy for the last night. The food in the MDR might disappoint after Remy.

I don't think you can see navigators from your sailing, but on disneycruiselineblog they have many navigators from previous sailings. You could look at one that is similar to your sailing and it'll give you an idea of what yours will be like

I would definitely either move it to Pirate Night or later. Believe is my favorite show on DCL (of those I've seen). I'm not sure how a father seeking to believe like his daughter does makes something "kid focused". I found that it more than any of the others really hit on things EVERYONE could appreciate.

Well, everybody is different.

For us, first the theme song of the show sounds more like a "comptine" (sorry it'a a french word but it means a song destined to children) to me.

I don't know, the genie made me feel like I was watching a children tv show.

I usually have a lot of tolerance or interest for kids stuff (duh) but this one hit my nerves a bit. Same for my husband who thought it was torture compared to the Golden Mickeys.

It will be what you make it. I haven't eaten dinner at Remy, but I have had Palo dinner and brunch, and Remy brunch. At each of these meals I was asked by my waiter if there was a certain time I needed to leave in order to pick up a child or go to an event. I heard other guests being asked the same thing upon sitting down and being greeted. So the wait staff is very aware of time limitations in relation to child care responsibilities & the myriad of activities available on the ship. It's very likely that you could make 2-hour dinner work at Remy.

We were asked by our server at Remy (at a 6:45 reservation) if we wanted to be done in time for the 8:30 show. We said no, and finished around 9:15. That did include a 15-minute-long talk with the chef when he came over to ask how dinner was going.

I agree that if you do want to see a show, it would be best to either schedule Remy for after the show or choose a different night. We had 8 courses brought one at a time. The pace could have been sped up, but that would rush the experience, which was worth every minute.

What ship will you be on? How many nights? For the 7 night cruise I think they have a "See you real Soon" show or something like that on the last night. If it is a 3 or 4 night cruise, then I'm not sure.
