Our family has a
Disney cruise booked for August with Autism on the Seas. We did receive an email from AOTS today explaining the changes with the
Disney cruise line.
DCL will no longer permit AOTS staff or parents in the youth centers during drop off times. On RCL and on prior DCL cruises, special needs children were able to participate during these drop off times with the aid of AOTS staff. With this change, AOTS will set up their own respite in a different area of the ship for only their sailors. DCL did add times that their youth centers will be open for all, but children will need to be with a parent. During those times families sailing with AOTS will be able to sign their kids in with AOTS and not need to be present. I do have the detailed email if people want me to post it. I have read of an issue on a prior cruise with AOTS on these boards, but I do not know if this incident is what prompted the change.
