Remodled cabins

Howdy - just wanted to give a quick review (sorry, no pictures, since I find the video to be an excellent presentation :))...

We checked out of an 11 night stay in a newly refurbished 2300 cabin last week - first guests in, as the loop had just opened. Overall, it was very, very nice. Sleeping on the new comfy queen in the bedroom was :cloud9:. The mattress is a huge upgrade; much thicker and hotel-like than before (it is indeed a queen as I checked the bed label and there are fresh drill holes in the wall indicating a change in headboard). The bed has been also raised where you can finally store luggage underneath - and you FW Cabinites know how awesome THAT is ;). Also appreciated the 4 hook coat-rack addition in the hallway. That will definitely save us money on Command Hook strips. Nice amount of storage in the living room with spacious clothing drawers; bathroom cabinets now have 4 good drawers for storage (2 are empty and 2 have extra towels); large tv (looks great, but barely watched it); wood or wood-like flooring throughout (shows a LOT of scuffs, but better than carpet); new fixtures/appliances/countertops...all very nice upgrades. Iron, ironing board, hallway mops/broom...all were new with packaging attached. Dishes/utensils looked to be original.

The only real issue we had was with the refrigerator. The freezer door kept barely popping open and staying open when closing the lower door of the refrigerator. We only caught it because water was leaking onto our fresh food. Not sure if the fridge was unlevel or what, but we had to close both doors tight at the same time.

Biggest con - we miss the murphy bed. It was effortless and clean to store out of the way. The sofa is comfy to sit on, but having to stack those huge sofa pillows every night with already limited space was a pain - and, again, they are quite bulky. Also, with the fabric being so light in color, all I see is dirty and gross over time with guests throwing them all over the floor :crazy2: (btw, we stacked them neatly).

And if you are a floor freak like me, no more vacuum available in the hall closet. Yeah, I kind of liked having that available.

Also, the cabinets are not tall enough to stand a box of cereal, so we had to lean a few things sideways. I know, we could've put them on the refrigerator or counters - but I like to put things away properly. :P

OH! And we saw our first - a family with 2 small dogs staying in the cabin next door. In a newly refurbished cabin, at that! I couldn't believe it. And they were letting the dogs run all over the loop without any leashes. Plus the lady parked her SUV in the next cabin over's parking space so she could allow her own parking pad to be displayed with halloween decorations. Not spying on her - just happened upon a scene of her speeding up the loop in her golf cart and profusely apologizing to the guests staying there, who had to park on the street. Glad they were only there for 2 nights. :sad2:
I agree abot the loss of the murphy bed, not to mention the food pantry being gone.

We were a cabin in 2500 in March and 2500 was the only one that was not changed yet but it was started on March 9. They are not going to re do 2100 it is going to be turned back into a RV loop. We looked at the redone cabins and the beds are queen sized.
