Survivor 50 Thread

Interesting episode with lots of twists.

Never saw Jeff competing - and honestly I expected him to do better. 💪

Kinda sad Christian left, he brought great entertainment. :sad1:

Exile was poised for whoever went to fail 🚫 to shake up the show.

Surprising that who we are left with I neither hate or love.

But if I were voting next would be Rizzo. ✒️

These people know nothing about him, they should be wary. 🐍

I know Fallon was trying to be funny, but it made me like him a little less.

I agree with @declansdad, though, too. They needed a switch up so not everyone would be so eager to go to exile this season.
There was always the risk of losing your vote. It's the result of not succeeding. Reading the result in front of the tribe was bad enough, but having your only vote cast upon yourself goes against Survivor rules.

Rules change.

At one time, there were no hidden idols.

That twist sucked. I liked the person who got screwed over by that. Boo.

No way, especially after last episode, is Emily and Ozzy dating. Not a chance. And I wish she had been the one who got voted out.

I am liking Rizz more this season and they are all dumb not to vote him out, pronto. And Cirie too. Bunch O' dummies.

I also like Joe more this time around. He is a little less about the integrity this season. I was surprised he was cool with big guy holding Christian's shot in the dark.

Ah, poor Christian. What a twist. I like the chaos Emily brings. You never know what she might do. I do hope Ozzy can hang in there. Devens is pulling a Rizz, but they are going to figure out it's fake. I think he is going next.
I think he got the votes last night to try and flush out his idol. I agree he might go next with one person getting a couple votes (that they will tell him they are voting for) in case he plays and it's legit.

Agree - I liked last week's twist but as far as this week and the "Fallon factor" I am 50/50. The earn the rice was fun and I loved the compilation of Jeff dissing the past competitors while having a hard time doing it the challenge!

I also feel like the excursion was a set up to fail in the first place and then took it too far; not only in losing a vote, having to vote for themself, (which rendered shot in the dark useless?) and then to be forced to disclose to the tribe. That would be difficult for most of them to survive.

I am not a fan of how much control seems to be taken away from the survivors by the fan/celebrity input this season and wish the producers would have vetted this more before implementing. For example, two people who found idols were voted out while others who were gifted them are still holding them. Personally, I am not a fan of them losing votes, but I am probably in the minority on that :)

Hope Devins finds an idol just to make things more fun, agree Ciri is getting a good edit.

I disagree (although I'm not trying to pick on your comment you're not the only one to say that). It's not the first time that particular challenge has been there.

That one was completed in the nick of time (Season 47). It is certainly a challenge that is very difficult to complete in the time allotted but not necessarily designed to fail assuredly. Normally in those jigsaw puzzle challenges they seem to have more time to think it over, yes other teams can put the pressure on you but I think they can spend more time figuring it out. While Christian is good at puzzles that doesn't mean you're the best at those types of puzzles and from what I read up jigsaw puzzles are not his forte let alone when he has little time to do it. He was involved in that type of puzzle earlier on in the season and struggled hard on it.

While I do agree it was meant to be very hard, just like the first time it was put in play, I just don't think it was set up for every player to fail no matter what. Truthfully, even as absolutely nutty as that twist was (and I do agree there it felt like against the spirit of Survivor) players should be very well used to jigsaw puzzles by now, it's just normally they are used to time being more relaxed.

If he completed the puzzle, was voting then and there without talking to his alliance or knowing how to best strategically cast his vote really a reward?
Was it presented as a reward? I don't remember Jeff saying that, only that Joe had to pick a player to go on a journey and historically these journeys have a habit of being the opposite of rewarding, punitive normally (like losing a vote).

It would be a fantastic reward if he got two votes, one right there and then another back at camp. Harsh, harsh punishment. I hope they never make someone vote for themselves again.

This is what completing the puzzle advantage said (per Christian's exit interview).

Here's what the parchment said.

Presumably, if you complete a puzzle before the time runs out, you receive something favorable.

Edit to add: Just read the parchment above. Thanks for sharing it @Chirple. That makes me feel better.
