Tinkerbell2300, aka Stephanie, pased away today, June 30th, 4 years ago, June 30, 2000. Stephanie was the first of four young ladies (that I am aware of) who have passed away here on the DIS, in addition, Sylvia, Robin and Beverly Lynn.

A multi-personalitied DIS'er from the past, moof (whom I know is still around), said it well one year after her passing, and I shared it again last year and will again this year, maybe a tradition. Tink mostly posted on the Collector Board, a little on the Community Board, she was missed by all. If you were here, on the DIS back then, you saw something that really meant a lot to those who were here. It showed we really are F A M I L Y here on the DIS.

A word or two from moof, sharing some thoughts on Stephanie....

that Tink would no longer be able to post on the DIS.
Tink's posts were kind, caring and funny and we feel
unworthy but honored to return one of her best posts
to the DIS. It is from the Legendary DIS Thread
Steph, that is the spirit in which it is offered.
We feel this post conveys her essence, sense of humor ,
love of Disney and Love of Family. Anyway it is
This post is hilarious. I've got three weird things that I've thought of since I
began reading this post.

The first, I was getting my picture made with Goofy and Mickey over at MGM.
While my hubby was getting ready to snap the pic, the CM announced I was the
last picture to be taken. All of the 30 people in line behind me groaned and
then proceeded to take my picture. All I could think is somewhere all over the
world, I am in lots of different photo albums

Oct 98 we stayed at the GF, as we were unloading our luggage this brand new
Mercedes pulls up next to us. The CM comes over with the cart and starts taking
Wal-Mart bags out of this guys trunk. I guess that was their luggage, they had
nothing but about 50 WM bags. I guess they spent to much on their car.

When I was with my family in 97 I wanted to ride the Dumbo ride but I didn't
want to ride by myself so I convinced my dad to ride with me. Picture a 50 yr
old dad and his 25 yr old daughter in a Dumbo car, while everyone else on the
ride was kids. You know how you can make Dumbo rise up and drop back down, Well
for some reason our Dumbo didn't like to ride too high. We'd push that little
lever and you could almost hear Dumbo groan, but when we wanted to come down we
dropped faster than ToT. We must have been a sight.
Aww, I so remember Stephanie and how her death affected me. It was the same time the movie Dinosaur came out and I had been to the movie and then visited the CB and learned of her dying. I always think of Stephanie when I see anything about that movie including the ride at AK.

Strange how a stranger's life and death touched so many.

She'll always be missed and always loved.

(And yes, that was a nice thread by Moof.)

Thanks Dan. For never forgetting to remember one of our own.

Wow, has it been 4 years already? I did not get to see much of her postings as I was still pretty new here but I remember being saddened by her passing.

I hope her family is hanging in there and doing okay. :(

Oh wow, I cannot believe it has already been four years :( As Brenda said, it is amazing how a stranger can touch your life. I do miss Stephanie a lot and I won't ever forget her...

*bumping a very nice thread remembering a very sweet DISer*

Wow, it really is hard to believe it's been that long....I was much more of a lurker back then, but I distinctly remember Stephanie, and as soon as I saw this thread my mind immediately went to Steph's signature of "Faith, Trust, & Pixie Dust"....I think that her passing and the reaction of the people here on this board is probably what ensured that I would always be a member here, even if I wasn't posting.

Beautiful tribute!! I didn't personally know Stephanie, but it sounds like she was an amazing person who was very much loved and very missed.

That was before my time here, but you're so thoughtful and sweet to remember her and the others, Dan!!

I was just thinking about Stephanie the other day, but I hadn't realized that it was nearing the anniversary of her passing. It's interesting how we tend to remember people right around that time even when we don't realize it. I was pretty new to the DIS when Stephanie passed, and I remember being so touched by the outpouring of love and support for this dear woman and her family. I'm not sure how many of you that were not DISers are aware of this, but many DISers send donations to Stephanie's family to help defray the cost of living in a facility near the hospital when Stephanie was nearing the end. We truly are a family here on the DIS. My prayers remain with Stephanie's family.

I remember Stephanie. I didn't know her at all, I don't recall her ever posting on the CB, but I do remember her death, the first for the DIS (that we are aware of). Very sad. :(

Thanks for the tribute, Dan. :)

I didn't know her, but thank you so much for posting this. I'm a member of another message board and we recently lost someone (whom I've "known" for a few years)...and it was just so sad. I understand what it's like to lose and deeply miss someone you've never actually met in person.
