Oh my, thanks much for the 'past, coming to life memories'!! And oh, what wonderful memories!!

Can you just imagine having 'Slippery Falls' today?? Too many people today do not take responsibility for themselves, and everything has to be made/built in such a way to 'save' them from themselves. Don't remember any accidents, except once a lady broke her leg (could have happened anywhere). Sure there were some we didn't know about.

Our children loved River Country (also the beach at FW). The water was really pretty (and safe) 'back in the day'. We also loved Discovery Island and would usually get at least one 'combo' ticket while we were there.

Thanks again - really enjoyed the memory 'refresher'!!

Thank you for the walk down memory lane.

I remember River Country as a child. That water park was the highlight of my trip. We love staying at Fort Wilderness and one night while hubby was on google maps trying to get a better view of the loops he found the old water park when he showed me I was so disappointed A few weeks later when we were at Fort we took a peek through the fence and it is so sad to see it abandoned like that. Fort in itself is a vacation, we spend more time at Fort than in the parks and I can't imagine the amount of fun it would be for my children to have that restored. An up and running River Country combined with the current day Fort would be grounds for us to never wanting to even buy park tickets. The two would be all we need

Skip forward 20 years with a 7 and 8 year and it was the scariest thing on earth.
