remember to take pics of . . .

YOURSELF!!!!

I have tons and tons and tons of pictures from Disney of dh & the kids but not too many of me. I always feel that I am "too fat" to have my picture taken, but years from now I won't be a part of the kids memories of our Disney trips....

signs, everyone is looking for signs nowadays.

Um, yourself, food, the same place during the day and at night, the looks can be totally different.

I've heard of people collecting photos of lampposts and trash cans, as they are themed!

Detail on buildings, ride wait areas, show theatres, restaurants etc. - it all makes the atmosphere but how often do we look at all those extra things?

Backs of things - parade floats, ride vehicles, kids spontaneous character hugs

ONe of my favorite pictures is the inside of the elevator of Cindy's Castle. Its round.

I take a lot of close-ups of the details. Sometimes I take the "big" picture then zoom in on the details. What I don't have are enough pictures of "us" so don't forget to get pictures of you and your family. Especially you as I'm like the others - I have very few pictures of me at WDW.

I also love taking pictures at the resort - again of all the little details.

I wish I had more signage now that I'm doing scrapbooks. It seems that your focus changes when you think about how the picture will fit in a scrapbook.

I am always looking for unique ways to remember our trips in addition to all the standard Disney pics

-The window displays in some of the shops are fantastic, I took some really cute pics of them last year

-The many fountains in the parks, I especially like those in the World Showcase

-The small details of your resort/ lobby, like the pictures, decorations, furniture etc.

-The view from your room, looking left, right and straight ahead

The photos that always turn out to be my favs are the ones of DS taken when he doesn't realize I'm capturing him with my camera... dancing to live performances, watching the parades and fireworks... they always show the genuine happiness in his face without mom saying "look here, smile."

I started this a few years ago, I take a picture of DH with the boys holding hands walking ahead of me. They never know I am taking it and they have always been my favorites. I have a cute one of DH with our oldest DS in EPCOT two years ago. Its great to see how tall they have gotten compared to DH

I'm planning to do a "Disney is in the details" layout about the Yacht Club. I took pictures of the bed spread, wall art, carpeting, even the elevator button (even THAT is themed!). We also had a nice housekeeper who made a lot of towel animals for us, so each day when we got back to the room, I took photos of the new ones before the kids played with them. I did a whole page just on towel animals. I also took photos of menus since we were on the DDP for the first (and only) time.

BTW, I know the "Disney is in the details" title is something I read somewhere, I am NOT taking credit for the idea:). I just can't remember where I read it:).

Ya I really like those unexpected, non posed ones!

  • Hidden Mickeys!
  • Flowers.
  • CMs that go out of their way to be friendly or helpful.
  • All the different means of transportation.
  • Food.

I always get a picture of someone outside the room beside the room number.
I like the hidden Mickeys -- I have pictures of carpet and bedspreads!
CMs at the World Showcase, but ask their permission first.

Find a way to take a timed picture in your room of everyone and what they are wearing. This helps 2 fold:

Safety - in case you are separated you have accurate info about what you each were wearing that day

Scrapping - sometimes pics get mixed up, mislabled or you just can't tell if that's PhotoPass picture from the first day @ MK or 2nd. This helps a lot if you are scrapping chronologically.

We take pics of the outside of the restaurants--signage--then we take pics inside, and the food of course. We are real foodies and eating is part of the vacation for us. Besides, I can't remember what I ate where. The food is always so beautiful to look at too.

We take pictures of restaurant signs, food and have our waiter take a picture of us at the table. (that way you can be in the picture too)

Garbage cans. People always look at me like I am crazy, and DH and DS's know that I am :goodvibes But on one trip my nephews were scouting out new ones for me to get. Each park, land and even some attractions have their own themes. I haven't done a LO with them yet, I am still collecting new ones before I do.

GARBAGE cans now thats a new one......different.....but I like it....I might just have to steal your idea.......
Our last trip my son was into the hidden Mickeys so we would take pictures of the ones we found I still need to do a mini album for thoses...now garbage cans......oh well....
