Remember to Only Buy Tickets From Authorized Vendors!

Yeah, maybe we could create a list of authorized ticket dealers for people that come to this thread. I have successfully used undercovertourist.com to buy park tickets based on hundreds of recommendations to use them. And their customer service is the bomb.

You can buy tickets through AAA. I think the key here is to NOT buy tickets from any of those "booths" in the lobby of restaurants and hotels, and it goes without saying... from auction sites. I am shocked it took Disney this long to go after them, they aren't exactly hiding their presence.

Woa - hang on a minute...those booths in hotel lobbies (depending upon the hotel of course) are more authorized than UT or AAA. I am speaking mostly about the DTD hotels. We bought our tix at the Royal Plaza Hotel gift shop. There was however a booth in the middle of the lobby that had reliable tix, but the people were extremely pushy with their offer of discounts in trade for timeshare visits. My start for tickets to avoid are on ebay.

It's amazing that people still get roped into these deals, but it will probably get worse as the ticket prices rise. My vacation time is worth more than the price of a free ticket -especially when I have no interest in the whole timeshare spiel. For myself, we've used UT a few times and they are excellent.

First of all, the Gift Shops in the Hotel Plazas Blvd Resorts are run by Disney and you can buy tickets (other than Annual Passes) there. For APs they will sell certificates which need activation.

If there are booths or others in the hotel, that is up to the hotel. However, last week at my window we found a person who had been tickets that they were not entitled to at a price actually higher than the gate price for those tickets. She had bought the tickets at a booth in one of the HPB Resorts. After a conversation with Security, she was able to purchase tickets from us directly and attempt to get back her money from the seller, who had not given her a receipt. Luckily it was on a credit card, so if she did not get a full refund she could have disputed the charge.

We talked to a Disney Castmember in a restaurant on US192 near Kissimmee... she was a ticket agent in a hotel there in Kissimmee... so there are more hotel ticket booths that are legit.. but it's got to be hard to tell which are and which are not!

Very good reminder about only using authorized Disney ticket sellers :thumbsup2 I am amazed that some people still ask about purchasing tickets on eBay with no guarantee that they will be good all in the name of saving a little bit of money :rolleyes1

Nothing is "more authorized" than something else. They are either authorized or they aren't.

Of course, if you talk to certain people in guest relations these days, they'll tell you a major ticket seller like Undercover Tourist is "not authorized" :(

Just go directly through Disney World and you will never have a problem!
