I really enjoy VMK, and I rarely pay attention to these boards due to the fact of people over reacting to harmless things. In most MMPOG there is the same problems being discussed here. Can we remember that this still is a game. Why so serious, why report every second you believe something is "offensive" if it did not offend you. People try to be super heroes in this game and report every thing they see, leave it to vmk staff. Disney is a place for all ages, if people want to pretend to be vampires or pirates why destroy there fantasy. I am tired of the community leader nonsense. Being a community leader gives you no special moderation powers, it just puts a "CL" in front of your name, in my opinion ruining it. You should not need some special badge to be able to help people. So please before you go off and report ask yourself, "Is this really offensive to me" don't think for other people. Remember to ignore, and use common sense. Laugh it off and just play instead of trying to censor Mk from harmless crap. I am sure Mk staff know what the boundaries are for being inappropriate.

Well it does offend me and it does upset me when people are trying to "bit" her for no reason....

Or when they are inviting her to a spin the bottle room...I don't think I need to sit down and explain what that is to her at her age and why they do it..

I too have played a bunch of MMORPG's..but this is a different type with a sort of family fun....

So as you put it....I don't think people are trying to be heroes...Just trying to make it safer for kids to play w/out the crap that is out there in the real world...

wow, because people never make spelling errors. In the online world the number one way to tell if a person is uptight is if the only way they can defend themselves is to correct your spelling. If you cant handle your kids knowing about the real world dont let them play or have better supervision. Thats like going into a store and letting your kid run around free and having them discover the magazine isle with all these odd titles. "Mommy what is a tummy tuck?"

Alot of people just say they are "going to report them", it is just to scare them. I do that alot, then they stop pestering the person. I am not trying to be a hero, i am just sick and tired of people trying to be bad butts, and the stupid i need girlfriend, boyfriend, mommy and, daddy crap too. Do they really need them no! I know they are having fun doing this. Sometimes when the guys start doing this to be i feel like they are hookers looking for money, or something. Eventhough alot of it is true that people do report even the tiniest of thing, but there are very weird people on vmk. i am sorry if i was offensive in any way and i just needed to vent.

but if you would like me to explain..I watch my child play the game and when she asks things like...What is the make out room and what is the spin the bottle room..I tell her she does not need to go in there..And Yes I will report it because I find it offensive...

As for your spelling...I was making a point that you applauded someone for doing something like STALKING!!!!

As for this getting ugly...No...I just think his thoughts and ideas are about as useful as the Vampires in VMK...(Meaning not as all)

I don't buy into your argument about people being uptight. If Disney didn't
market the heck out of VMK as "safe" for kids, restricting a wide range
of vocabulary words we cannot type, I don't find anything wrong with
people reporting players who abuse the game.

Most things I see are minor, but I would report bullies.

I can't believe some of the terrible things this kid is getting away with saying. He's hated me from day one because I tried to help with something and he said I was "butting in"...

last night he showed up in my room going -yawn- -this is boring- and so on. It was in my HM room and you can stand in the doorway without being seen-he wouldn't even show his face. I was finally able to get a click on his shoes (haha!) and gave him the boot after about 5 minutes of harrassment or so.

Yeah. This right here is who/what we need to be protecting our children from. Open hatred for no reason.

Since I can assume that you do not have kids yourself, who are YOU to tell others how to parent? Why don't you grow up, try to become a mature adult that actually contributes something useful to society, instead of spout off rude things to people, and then we can talk, OK?

Probably better just to not respond -- there's nothing much really to be gained in responding.

I don't think any thread has yet been locked in this forum (that wasn't for procedural reasons). Likewise, as far as I know, a rather minimal number of posts has been deleted. (Heh, sadly, a number of those were mine I'll let you all guess why.)

It would be nice if this forum could continue to (largely) self-moderate. However, some of the posts in this thread have looked like "direct personal attacks," which are not allowed, I think.

Still, I think the best course is still: Don't feed the troll.
