Do you celebrate your faith (if you have one) at Christmas time? Indeed, even if you don't have faith, do you go along anyway? You'll always find me at Church every Christmas Eve :)

We sometimes go to the Christmas Eve service at our church, but it gets sooo crowded I sometimes dread it. It is nice, though. We sing carols and songs of praise. Everyone gets a candle and we pass the flame around.

Another church in town does a walk through Bethlehem and we love that every year.

The kids have an advent book set about the story of baby Jesus. It's mini books and you read a small piece of the story each day leading up to Christmas. We also watch a couple baby Jesus videos with them - The Prince of Peace and Nestor.

But we're still all about Santa too!

Our church has a special Christmas event every year. This year its this Sunday. Its part music, part program, part Christmas sermon and always fun, beautiful and touching.

The church is adding something new with a special Christmas eve service. Not sure we will make it since we still don't know what time mil is expecting us.

And we also enjoy a candlelight service at Mom's church. Its always so beautiful.

And of course we still do the whole Santa and reindeer thing with the little ones. Taking them all to see Santa this Saturday and then home to make cookies!

I like the atmosphere of a church at Christmas, love the music but I'm not Christian so don't really celebrate the birth, no.

Used to play the Hand bells at a local church at Christmas time but the celebration of my faith is extremely personal.

We celebrate from the first Sunday of Advent, until Ephinany. Midnight mass is one of our favorite family traditions. I love the season...my favorite time of the year!

I celebrate Santa Claus at Christmas and was told I'm going to hell for it by someone here on the DIS. Can you believe that? :scared1: :lmao:
Here..on the DIS? Absolutely, I believe it!

I'll go out on a limb and say, you must be nice. Otherwise, Krampus would've have eaten you by now. ;) :santa:

I try to make it to church every Sunday during December. Most of my husband's side of the family does not attend church, so we spend Christmas eve with them.

Roman Catholic, I try to practice my faith, but I stopped going to Church many many years ago. I just felt it was hypercritical gathering of people led by someone who had no idea of what life was all about. Christmas joy of watching children amazed at what's under the tree is enough for me.

Just a funny note: I visit Japan frequently....they LOVE having Christmas stuff there, the trees, lights, decorations, talking about Santa Claus, and wearing Christmas clothes....but only 3% of them are Christian.

I think Christmas is great, and I celebrate in my own secular way.
