Haha nope, not Catholic. It's a beautiful building though. We couldn't go inside because of a funeral. The program on tv is called Hour of Power.

Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA (outside Disneyland) is all glass. But it's not a Catholic cathedral

It's a church broadcast on tv. We went there when we went out West. We've contributed to them over the years.

I think religion is a very hard thing to understand and I have been attending Catholic school since Kindergarten. Sometimes I think the Catholic education has screwed me up even more about religion.

I went to a catholic school for 7 years and I now refuse to follow any organized religion.

i think the building only needs to be big enough to hold the congregation and some visitors.
the money helps with the running costs like power bills and stuff. i've also heard that its a trust thing. one of the things we value most is money and giving is a way of showing God that you trust him.
i dont think its right when people request money, it should be between you and God. no one needs to know how much you give.
sorry if i sound a little preachy, thats really not my intention

I mean, I'll overlook the Crusades. I'll overlook all the mothers who say they love Jesus more than their children. And I'll even overlook all of the people whose quality of life has skyrocketed simply because of faith in and worshipping God. I HATE Christianity just because they don't allow gay marriage.

I wasn't attacking you. However, it's ridiculous to hate a religion for ONE fact. That's like saying you hate Sea World because you hate sharks. While I'm completely on your side with the gay marriage issue, I don't hate Christianity for not allowing it. I hate that they don't allow it, but I can't hate the religion for one issue.

The amount of people that go to other countries to have a gay marriage is astounding. It's tourism money right there. Because a wedding brings in a lot of money to a lot of people. Caterers, florists, planners, musicians, banquet hall owners, hotels, tailors/dressmakers, etc;.

I know at least five couples personally that have gone to Canada or Massachusettes to have a legal gay marriage (two of those couples actually moved permanently to Canada) because marriage isn't legal in NH (civil unions are, and there's talk in our House and Senate about passing a bill to legalize gay marriage).

Those weddings alone are probably $50,000+ worth of money that could have stayed right here in NH/the US.

I think a lot of the whole gay marriage debate could be settled if the word "marriage" is not used. Gay couples should have every right that straight couples do, but I think a lot of people have a problem with the word marriage being used to define a legal relationship between homosexuals.
