no i still take the class but our teacher doesnt go over evolution i propbably would skip the question
Depending on what state you live in and what grade you're in, teachers are required by law to teach evolution. My teacher told us this before we started our evolutionary unit a couple weeks back. BTW, I live in NJ, and I don't know where you live, so I'm not sure if the law applies to your state. But
if it does, your teacher is still required to teach it.
Please don't think I'm trying to bash your teacher or your beliefs. I'm just stating facts from what I personally learned.
Jumping into the discussion concerning evolution - I believe it's happening. It's just a
theory, but there is evidence to back it up. Radiometric dating, relative dating and fossils are a few examples that come to mind. Scientists are searching for the uknown answers of our earth's past.
Evolution is similar to religion - there are no known answers, and the scientists are trying to find them through palentology and other fields of study, as do the men and women who seek their answers through prayer to God or by meditation.
Evolution could be true, but at the same time, there is the possibility that it doesn't exist at all, though I can't type out any facts that come to mind that could disprove the theory.
God could be in Heaven, or anywhere else we believe he is, but there's the possibility that he really isn't anywhere at all.
If I'm confusing any of you, it's because my religious views have gotten really shaky over the past few weeks. But my point is, believing in the theory of evolution is similar to believing in a religion in its own sense. Both seek answers, but the method of finding them are completely different.
