Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

Great choices for your fave animatronics! I agree that scene in American Adventure is very moving. Gets me everytime!

Jackie beat me to it and mentioned the pirate with the hairy leg. :lmao: Definitely my favorite. It was specifically mentioned in the Birnbaum guide (think it is real hair :confused3) and I read that darn guide so many times as a kid I bet I could still recite parts of it.

Sorry about the t-shirt mishap. I have yet to try that. Since I'm so craft challenged I can't help but think it would be bound to end in disaster.

Happy 23 days!
That's too funny about reciting parts from the Birnbaum guide. Normally I don't have this many issues with making tshirts. Oh well, you live and you learn.

Sorry to hear about the shirts. :sad2: How bizarre that her hair wouldn't stick! Are you going to contact the seller?

My favorite AA is probably the elephants on the Jungle Cruise. They are cute and hold a special memory of our first ride when I completely fell for the joke that the one was going to spray me...I even shrieked and ducked.:laughing:
I've been thinking about contacting the seller but honestly, I don't want to make another tshirt so I just might let it go.

Love the elephants! They are really cute.

Holy Poly Upgrade Batman!

Can't believe I missed this little tidbit of info!

We requested and stayed in Samoa and LOVED it! It's between both pools, hop skip and a jump to GCH across the cute little bridge will all the ducks sleep at night. It only had 1 sink but that wasn't an issue for us. We requested first floor and got it.

Can't say enough about the location!!! We were steps from both pools, walked barefoot to the Volcano Pool. It's open til Midnight.

The noise level in Samoa was not an issue for us (rumor I'd heard on the DIS was that it was toooo loud). We were right by the elevator, ice machine, and mousekeeping room and we never heard a thing. We sleep with a noise machine from Brookstone all the time anyway and that more than took care of it!

I miss the Poly already. Don't think I haven't priced it a dozen times for Christmas. Cus I have.

*sigh*

Fell head over heels in love with it.

Dole Whips any time you want em.

$6 Tonga Toast for breakfast in the mornings.

Photo ops everywhere you turn.

Love me some Poly! I think it's officially my favorite resort. *GASP* and I loved loved loved AKL but there's just something about Poly!

You're gonna love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm officially even more excited after reading your comments about the Poly. I really have to study the Poly map so I'm better prepared when I check in. I'm going to make sure to do that today.

Wow - I got so far behind with PTR's this weekend. What is WRONG with me?

Favorite Bread - that's tough because I really try NOT to eat the bread. but if my memory serves me right they had some pretty yummy bread at Narcoossee's - I think it was several different types and they were all yum.

Favorite entree - I think I have to go with......

Sept2009-Disney009.jpg

Insert scary music here ....reeh, reeh, reeh, reeh :scared1:

:rotfl2: Just Kidding - I'd go with the scallops I had at the flying fish - best ever - amazing!

Best Animatronic - Well, I really do like the two brothers and that song (which I love and wish I had written) brings a tear to my eye everytime. I guess the bride in the haunted house isn't really an animatronic or IS she? If so, she would have to be my all time favorite cause she is so creepily cool.

So - as far as watching Wishes from TOTW lounge - how about the 12? would that work for you? I think you are planning on MK that night, right?
I think we are going to Epcot the 13th, MNSSHP the 14th, and late AK hours the 15th.
Ugh. That fish is so scary looking! I still can't believe that Denny ordered that. :scared1:

The 12th works for me. Wishes seems to be at 9 that night. Have we exchanged phone numbers yet? :rotfl2:

I took these last September with my "old" camera. And Now I am officially jealous! I think a backscratcher or lapu lapu by the pool has definitely inched itself up higher on my "must do" list!

Ahhhhh. Thank you for the pictures, they make my day at work so much better!

Adding a little more Polynesian fun this morning:

I have many more, but those were the easiest to come across in the few minutes I have this morning.

It would be awesome to stay at Poly! :cool1:
Mmmmm....Kona. I can't wait to eat there again!! Thank you for the pictures. I love the one of the little girls playing in the sand.

It took me a few minutes to figure who that big girl was that Jill was walking with! Looks to me like there was a growth spurt and a body type change.

My favorite animatronic is probably Mr. Potato Head. He's just so amazing!
He is a really cool one!

I think that my favorite animatronic is the hopping Brer Rabbit on Spash Mountain. It's just a really neat effect. I've heard it doesn't always work, but every time I've been on the ride he's hopped just fine. The Witch from the Great Movie Ride is definitely up there too.
Both very good choices. I love seeing all the different answers I get from these questions.

How about we talk about the Cheesiest Disney Attractions today?

Marc - Maelstrom

Epcot_Maelstrom_entrance_sign.jpg

I don't know what it is about Maelstrom but Marc is constantly making jokes about it. He is always joking around begging me to ride it 10 times on our trip. He's a big dork. I agree with him, it's pretty cheesy. I often wonder what Sig Hansen thinks of this ride.

Leslie - Enchanted Tiki Room

20_enchanted_tiki_room_marquee_sized.jpg

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Tiki birds but it's uber cheesy. I like to imagine how Walt wanted this attraction, as a restaurant. It makes me feel better. :rotfl2:

For me the cheesiest attraction at Disney is the Stitch thing. I sat through it once, and declared never again. At least when it was Alien it was scary. I guess I just have never felt any real Stitch love.

A close second would be the Epcot Mexico ride, before the rehab. It was the poor man's If U Had Wings ride, without the cool tunnel at the end. I use to get a kick out of the people trying to sell yu stuff towards the end.

I gotta agree about the Tiki Room. It's MUCH better in Disneyland apparently...or so I'm told from Bubba.

Another cheesy attraction for me is the Country Bear Jamboree. Even the name sounds cheesy :rotfl2:

I thought about Stitch, but I don't think it's cheesy, it's just plain AWFUL. :lmao: I don't remember the ride before the rehab so I can't comment on that.

I have heard the same, much better in Disneyland. I'll get there to see for myself someday.

The Country Bears is another cheesy one, I think it could be cute again if they updated it a bit. :confused3

i think i must agree with Marc and go with Maelstrom ... honestly, i just hate that attraction! im not too sure what it is that makes me dislike it so much. :confused3

Cheesiest? The Jungle Cruise, but I would not have it any other way! I just love the dumb jokes!

Hmmm...I haven't done Tiki or Country Bears, but I imagine they are both high on the cheese factor.

I think Ellen is pretty cheesy. It's cool in a way, I do like the moving theater and the dinosaurs, but the REALLY BAD Ellen AA is just absurd. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. :rotfl: Plus the whole movie line to it with her playing Jeopardy is pretty cheese-tastic. Overall, I think the attraction is okay-not terrible, not great. It does mean 45 minutes of sitting and air conditioning which can be a very, very good thing. ::yes::

You guys really came up with some unusual/interesting categories for your countdown! :worship: Love it!!

Cheesy. Hmmm. I agree with both of you. My favorite part of Maelstrom is that little "village" where you dock at the end. That seems so quaint and charming I could spend lots of time there.

Tiki Room is cheesy in FL. I really enjoyed it in CA. There's even a Dole Whip stand with a "special" counter for Tiki viewers. And you can take your Dole Whip into the show. Perfect escape from the heat and sun!

I'd have to add Jungle Cruise to cheesy but it's a good cheese.

I think Spaceship Earth has a cheese element too... but love it.

22 days!! :cheer2:

Happy 22 days!!
for favorite animatronic - the "two brothers" at the American Adventure...makes me choke up EVERY time....how awful a time that must have been for our country...
and I do like the man with the hairy leg on PoTC....brings back memories of going to Disney as a chile

Most cheesiest - the country bear jambore....we saw the christmas version in 2001 and it was much better....I think it would benefit from an update :confused3

Sorry about your shirts...that stinks

My favorite is the "ladies for sale" in POTC. I don't know why...I think they remind me of a being a kid and I didn't get what they were then but I definitely remember them!

Mary Ellen!!!!! I can't believe you posted that picture of that fish again!!!!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: ;)

Hmmmm cheesy....Is Primevil Hurl cheesy? A little I think....so bright and carnivaly...I know it is designed that way...but it has a bit of cheese factor to me. Now I want some cheese and wine :lmao:

So funny you mentioned that about Sig!! He was there 2 years ago a few days before I arrived...I would have loved to meet him...it was him and Edgar!! :goodvibes

Tracy

You guys have some great countdowns!! Okay highest cheese factor, hmmmm I think the Universe of Energy is pretty cheesy....got love Ellen and her Jeopardy game....I enjoy the ride, but it is cheesy LOL!!!!!

Okay LL, :faint: I finally got caught up after two weeks away!

First WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT on the Poly! YAY for a special couple nights there what FUN! :goodvibes

I saw all your contests and best and worst lists, but there are so many and I was so behind I won't participate on those I missed, but I will from here on out! So I gather that you and Mark are going to be a 50s sock hop couple for Halloween? TOOOO cute! OH and bummer on the shirts, but like Jen said "don't sweat the small stuff!" CAN'T believe you are just three weeks away!! WOWSERS!!!! :yay: Very exciting.

Looking forward to these final days and sharing in your excitement!!

Love all the Poly pictures MEK and MeMom posted! I bet you are super excited now!

Okay, I have to laugh -- Maelstrom and the Tiki Birds are some of Connor's favorite rides/attractions as well as Stitch which ranks for me as the cheesiest ride. He has a very unique taste in Disney attractions.

Ok, I'm few days behind. Shocking I know!

My favorite animatronic is sooooooooo hard for me! I love all of CoP so much, but Mr Potato Head is super cool, but I love the graveyard scene in HM especially the singing heads (do those count?), I could go on but I'll spare you!

Cheesiest ride?! NONE! Justing kidding! I love me some cheese! I'm going to go with Country Bears! But, I love it, especially because it's one of the things I remember from my trip as a kid!

I love that MaryEllen snuck the picture of the scary fish in again! :lmao:

I have more poly pics for you! Coming soon!
