Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

This is very true and aren't they in cute farmer clothes too? I'm all for the outfits. :rotfl2:

Yes! Mickey and Pluto are there too and they are also in farmer outfits. I can't wait!!! We get to see Mickey and his buddies in a bunch of different outfits on this trip: Chef Mickey's, Cape May, GG, 'Ohana...I'm so excited!

I'm pretty sad that there are no characters at LTT. We LOVED our dinner there in 2008. And I agree about CP. It's our favorite character breakfast. 1900 Park Fare comes in a close 2nd.

Yay for being 20 days away! It'll go by so quickly.

Our favorite character meal was Tusker House for breakfast. The characters were adorable in their safari outfits and the food was soooooo good! We all had great interaction with the characters (got an awesome pic of DH with Goofy and DH also got LOTS of smooches from Daisy).

We're so excited about being there again on our first full day! :dance3:

I can't believe you're at 20 days already!!! :yay:

I found out this morning he's going to be in Lowell, MA on SEPTEMBER 11th...which just so happens to be when I'll be in Florida. :sad2:

Hi Leslie,
Thanks for the info on Sig...my co-worker is a big fan! She is going to try to surprise her DH with tickets...we are up on the North Shore so Lowell isn't too far....sorry you can't be there :-(

I found out this morning he's going to be in Lowell, MA on SEPTEMBER 11th...which just so happens to be when I'll be in Florida. :sad2:

I plum forgot that you are a DC fan or I would have told you that before! I looked into getting tickets since we return from Disney on the 10th but all that was left was upper balcony for $30 and I didn't feel like paying that. :rotfl: Lowell is my hometown! :goodvibes

I guess my favorite character meal would be Crystal Palace...I have only done that and CM's...
That is such a bummer about Sig :sad2: Well maybe you can catch him (no pun intended :rotfl2:) somewhere close when you get back.

Tracy

YAY for only 20 more days!! WOW that is less than 3 weeks and you will be in the teens tomorrow WOOT WOOT! This trip is coming up FAST!!! Love your trip to do list, I always have to make those right before the trip to make sure I get everything done I need to get done!!!

Hmmmm...favorite meal of all time had to be the evening at Brown Derby, when we closed the park...it was a great time with friends and it was so cool to be some of the last people in the park!!!

As far as favorite breakfast, I have to say I really loved the before park opening at Crystal Palace!!! I'm looking forward to eating there again!

Hurray for 20 days!!! And double hurrays for being in the teens tomorrow!!! :woohoo:

I am very sad that we will never get to experience Minnie in her colonial outfit! I am all about the outfits, too! :lmao: So, having said that, it should come as no surprise that our favorite character meal was the Tusker House breakfast -- the gang all decked out in safari gear is just too perfect for me.

Your to-do list looks like a lot more fun than my to-do list for the weekend.

I really loved the character meal at LTT too. They just spent so much time with you. Plus, a family style meal is amazing when you have kids. I think CP's lunch was a very close second for us. I love the menu, the atmosphere, and Pooh Bear!

My favorite breakfast is much harder. I am not much of a breakfast eater. I think CP would win again by default. We had the 8:05 slot in 08. It was nice to be in the empty park and I remember enjoying the made to order omelets and fresh fruit.

So what are your favorite character meals and breakfast meals?

We've only done two character meals - Chef Mickey's dinner and Crystal Palace breakfast. Crystal Palace wins HANDS DOWN for food and was overall just a better day, but our experience at Chef Mickey's I will never forget. It was Disney magic!! So both are my favorites. I want to try CM breakfast.

*Stop our mail

THANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER!!!! :rotfl:

*Take pictures of New Park Bag ;)

Whaaaaaaaaaa? No Saddle Up?

I'm looking forward to the pictures!! And I'm looking forward to doing the Teen Dance with you tomorrow!

Hi Leslie!
Just catching up from school starting!
The POLY!
Oh my goodness!
In my dreams!

You are getting so close...
Hooray for teen dancing in the morning!

Favorite Character Meal.....

For me its a toss up between CP and Cape May Cafe. But since the question pertains to characters, and my favorite all time character is Eeoyre (cause he never smiles ;)), I am going to have to go with CP.

Leslie you are so organized. Brooke is so organized. I feel like a mess compared to you two. What I'm struggling with is MNSSHP. I don't know whether to dress up or not. And if I do, I want it to be super easy.

Can't wait to see your costume.

I just appear to be organized. ;)

Actually, for the first trip EVER, I feel organized. I think it has to do with having a smaller home and less stuff! :thumbsup2 (and more time on my hands)

Easy costume: wear a neutral color, like black. strap a teddy bear to each arm and go as the "2nd Amendment" (the right to bear arms) Joe and I also last year wore a neutral color and then we put a sticker of an apple on his shirt and I drew and cut out the Pi symbol and put it on my shirt and we were "Apple Pie". People loved these costumes!

I've actually only done three character meals, unless you count Remy at Chef's de France and Cinderella being in the lobby of the Castle years ago before lunch and dinner became character dinning. My favorite that I've done though is breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. The food was tasty and the characters were great. Plus, instead of Tigger who is normally there, we got to see Rabbit, a character I had seen before and haven't seen since in the parks! Mary Poppins was also wearing her nanny outfit instead of her Jolly Holiday dress which was pretty cool too. I'd love to try Park Fare for dinner as well, but I can't convince anyone to go with me. If I ever take a solo trip, I think I'd probably go then.

As for favorite breakfast in general, 1900 Park Fare and Bomma stick out in my mind. Both had great breakfast buffets.

I'm all about the outfits. I really want to go to 'Ohana, it's so tempting now that we are staying at the Poly. I love Lilo & Stitch.

I want to try 1900 Park Fare but I have a feeling that we won't go to buffets until we have kids....for the amount we eat it's just not worth it anymore. I would probably make an exception for LTT if they brought characters back though. :rotfl:

I've heard such great things about Tusker House! I can't believe it either but I'm in one of my "the trip is never going to get here" funks this morning.

Sigh. It's okay. Someday I will get to meet Sig. I could care less about the Hillstrand Brothers. :lmao:

I guess my favorite character meal would be Crystal Palace...I have only done that and CM's...

I can't find any other dates, oh well. Someday I will "catch" him. ;)

No no no, favorite character meal and favorite breakfast my dear. You answered the wrong question. :rotfl2: Hehehe, you know I'm just teasing you!! I did like our Cape May breakfast except for the breakfast pizza, that just tasted funny!

I'm sad for you too, Colonial Minnie was so very cute. I'm looking forward to completing my to do list this weekend. I'm sooooooooooooo ready. Only 2 weekends after this one!!

I really loved the character meal at LTT too. They just spent so much time with you. Plus, a family style meal is amazing when you have kids. I think CP's lunch was a very close second for us. I love the menu, the atmosphere, and Pooh Bear!

I just tried to stop it on the website and I'm still too early. I have to wait another 5 days. Please remind me. :rotfl2:

Nope, no saddle up. I'm shocked at myself but I really like what I bought.

I don't feel organized at all, it's all an illusion.

I think you should dress up!! I want to see your costume, we will have to plan a bump into each other since we are going to the same party. Hmmm. Just a themed Halloween shirt is super easy. Or you just wear mouse ears.

I just appear to be organized. ;)

I have heard such great things about the character interactions at dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I'm jealous you were able to see Rabbit, what a great character to find. Eeeyore and Rabbit have always been my Pooh Gang favorites. I used to watch the Pooh cartoon on Saturday mornings and I loved Rabbit in that.

I'm excited to be in the teens, but part of me feels like the trip is never going to get here. Bah. I'm just so excited and ready! It needs to be September 8th!

Today we are counting down by talking about our Favorite Childhood Memory. No pictures, sorry.

Marc - Hoop De Doo Revue

I can't tell you how hard Marc tries to convince me to book this on our trips. He says without a doubt that it is his favorite childhood memory. Apparently, his Dad was called on during the show. He just remembers loving the entertainment, food and atmosphere. I promised him when we have kids that we will go to this.

Leslie - Pocahontas Show

I had a hard time with this one. I went on two trips as a child, the first one I got chicken pox halfway through the trip. Other than that I remember riding the skyway, seeing a Mary Poppins topiary and having an awful ride on the tea cups.

On my second trip, I was 13 so I was a little....hmmm...disagreeable? My favorite memory from this trip is going to see a Pocahontas show. I'm fuzzy on the details, I know I sat out a ride with my mom's friend who went with us who was pregnant. We went and saw the show, I think it was at MGM. I remember loving the show, I think it was basically a reenactment of the movie and at one point there were 100's of tissue paper leaves that came out during Colors of the Wind. I loved it. I remember them swirling out into the audience and I grabbed an orange one. I kept that leaf until after I graduated high school in my memories box. I wonder if it's still in there. Does anyone else remember this show? I'd love to hear if I'm remember right or making it all up. :lmao:

What is your very favorite childhood memory at Disney?? If you didn't go as a child, how about your first trip to Disney?

I remember the Pocahontas show. It was called "The Spirit of Pocahontas" as I recall and only lasted about a year until it was replaced by the Hunchback of Notre Dame show. It was at the Backlot Theater which is now behind the big San Francisco scrim next to the Cars meet-and-greet. I thought it was a great, and it had a fantastic set complete with waterfall. And yes, it did have a lot of leaves that rained down on you. I don't remember if I got one or not.

I'm going to have to think about what my favorite childhood memory is though and get back to you on that. :scratchin

I knew I could count on you remembering the show! :goodvibes I vaguely remember a waterfall and I remember Grandmother Willow as well.

I'm very interested to hear what you favorite childhood memory is!
