Has anyone ever done the "rehitching" ceremony at the Garden Grill at Epcot??

I booked it for my 10th anniversary in March as a surprise to my hubby and was wondering if it gives you that Disney magic feeling?

thanks! :Pinkbounc

It is really cool. A server comes out and makes a big deal out of getting rehitched and then performs this very short ceremony. Ours consisted of "DO YOU" and you answer. Then you kiss to the count of 100. Don't fret, they count to 10 by ones and then to 100 by tens. Then you get a little cake. If you go during the less busy hours, the characters will stand in while this is going on. When we did it, Mickey tried to cut in and push me out. DW probably would have let him.

Ditto.

We did the rehitching ceremony 11/01 and we loved it! Our server counted while we smooched and Mickey, Chip and Dale were in the "bridal party"! :p

Mickey helped me cut the cake, then Chip pushed my hubby away and pretended to kiss me. :D :D :D :D

I'd do this again in a second:cool:

we did while on our honeymoon and had fun.

When you book your PS just request it. In our case they just did it we had only told them we were on our honeymoon.

I tried to do it as a surprise for my husband, I had it annotated when I made my ps, when we checked in he was with me so I didn't want to say anything. Thinking since I was told it was annotated on my ps, I figured everything would be ok. Wrong, we checked in and I stated that we had made ps and the time. Since they weren't busy they never looked up my ps info so no rehitching ceremony came about. So I would mention it if at all possible at check in too.

Info I read somewhere--probably Deb's site--recommended that you mention the rehitching no less than 3 times: When you make your PS, when you check in at the restaurant, and when your actual waiter/waitress arrives. Anything less and you run the risk of it being missed somewhere along the line.

That makes it kinda hard to fully surprise your significant other, but I guess you could always leave the table for a moment and try to catch your waiter/waitress in private.

What a wonderful, thoughtful surprise for your hubby. You two must be very happy together. Im jealous. I have been divorced for 2 1/2 yrs and if I ever got remarried I would love to do it at disney. the hard part is finding the right guy (especially in this town). LOL. I wish you two all the happiness in the world. Not just the WDW world.

Check this out - it's not a great picture but you get the idea. Thanks to whoever originally posted it.

Thanks for all the kind answers and good wishes! Can't wait to do this big event! My kids(ages almost 2 and almost 4) will be with us--so I know they'll get a big kick out of this.

I will be there for my 12th wedding anniversary and I never knew about this. Though I have been there for my anniversary before. I just might have to partake in this fun adventure without DH knowing. Thanks for the info.
