If you've been on these boards recently, you know there have been quite a few rumors about possible rehabs at WDW in the near future. However, if you visit the official WDW website, you wouldn't think there's going to be any - with the exception of Legend of the Lion King, which is being converted into Mickey's Philharmagic.

Here are the latest rehab rumors:

Festival of the Lion King
Big Thunder Mountain
Tower of Terror

All 3 are major attractions. Don't you think if they're supposed to be refurbished soon, the official site would be letting us know? I'll be more than a little ticked off if I get to WDW and find out any of these are down without any notice.

Disney is usually slow on the trigger in announcing them, let alone posting them to their website. I can't speak for the other 2 rides, but the Tower of Terror rehab is on the CM list

Thanks for the info on TOT. When is it scheduled to be down?

And they have already started work on the Festival of the Lion King theatre so at some point they are going to have to shut it down to do the major work on it. I contacted guest services and they told me that the dates were to far out to announce the closing for rehab.

Anyone know what the latest is about big thunder moantain? This will be my sons first trip that he is tall enough to ride it. Trying to prepare myself for the disappointment if it is closed!

Our trip is Oct 19-26!
Thanks
Maci

I believe a CM posted on another thread the BTMRR is rumored to be down for two months starting 8/25. Again this is not official just a rumor!

Boy if this one's true, I'm going to drive myself crazy trying to beat the rehabs;) . Our first day at Disney is 8/23 and FOTLK is rumored to be closing 8/24. So I have to get over to AK to make that, then have to hop back to MK to catch the only Spectro during our trip on the evening of 8/23. Then I guess I'd better make sure I ride BTMRR while I'm there. Yikes. I sure hope the rumors quit before I go, or I'll be in a planning Hell.;)

I'd heard that even though Osbourne Lights weren't going to be there this Christmas, that it was going to come back next Christmas.

Has anyone heard anything else about this????

I heard that Osbourne lights wil be back next year down New York street.

Yes, they will return in 2004.

I think Disney releases rehab schedules seasonally. These are fall rehabs so the "official" schedule will probably not be out until the fall. I'm sure they figure that shorter notice is not only more accurate but allows less time for complaints.

That said I am dying to know the rehab schedule, especially for BTMRR and FOLK
