I'm planning our trip for Jan 2015, but worried about rehabs/ closings. I've been looking all over and found some info from 2013 and 2014 to get an idea of what shows and rides Disney chooses to close or limit during that time. It's confusing. I understand that Disney releases info a few weeks ahead of time, but wondering what you've experienced. We plan on arriving Thursday 1/28. Do parks on 1/29 - 2/1. Maybe we should delay it one week for Feb instead to be able to see and do more. Any thoughts?

During that time of the year I don't think one week or so will make much of a difference.
The main ones with holiday over lays will follow the schedules you've seem from past years. They may flux a few days either way.
As for other attractions that may be closed.... It's too soon to tell. Disney isn't know for long range notification.

When we have gone during that time frame, we book the trip and quit looking at the list.
Even when we have gone with multiple closures we still had a fine time.

We have gone for 2 years at that time. Small world is always down that last Monday for Holiday de-decorating but Haunted Mansion has just re-opened. Splash Mt. and Grizzly RR have also been down for maintenance at that time.

Last year a lot was down at that time because of the prep for the 60th, hopefully not as much this year because of major overhauls done. You will only find out a few weeks before and do know that there will be rides coming up and down throughout that time. But still plenty to do and so much shorter lines, we keep going back. It is my daughters semester break.

We were there Feb 6-10, 2015. Off the top of my head, the following g were closed:
Splash
Pooh (all of critter country actually, walled off at haunted mansion)
Railroad
Matterhorn
The castle and small world were tarped

All of the grizzly area was walled off including
Soarin
Grizzly river run
Redwood creek trail
Ariel's grotto (resturant, but this was a bummer, we wanted to do the princess meal)
Lagoon was drained

With two entire lands closed, the park felt super crowded. We expected to trade closures for short lines, but that was not the case. For example on the Monday- I dropped my rider swap pass for Radiator springs racers (I know, right) and went to get a FP. It was about 90 minutes after opening and they were all gone. I was pretty surprised for a Feb weekday. We had a good trip and it was the best time for us to go.... But it was busier than I expected for sure. Buzz's line was consistently 30- 40 minutes, Alice 30 minutes, POTC was 30 minutes after 10ish, jungle cruise 30 minutes at 11:00 on Tuesday etc

We were there at the same time! It was the worst for closures we had ever experienced!! yes, 2 whole lands closed, along with the lagoon being dry so no WOC show, and ariels grotto closed. CA closed early one day as well. The train being down was about the worst thing for me, we use it as a way to get around the park! And Soarin being down really hurt! I know they are changing it to the new Soarin movie, I just really hope it's not closed this time! I am sure it won't be this bad again this coming late Jan into Feb. we will be there again and I am counting this time, on lower crowds to enjoy the new WOC show and paint the night.... I don't really like the wet rides anyway so grizzly and splash being down don't bother me. Can't wait to ride the matterhorn though and see all the added effects!
Even with all that being closed, there was still plenty to see and do and experience and eat and enjoy! lol! So to the OP.....yes, plan the trip, and just go, there is so much it is impossible to see and do it all anyway, you won't even notice a few things being down! :)

Thank you so much everyone! It's our first time at DL because WDW has so many projects right now. I'm just going to stop worrying and book the trip. Love this forum!! :-)
