I will be going this December to Disney World and I would like to know how the weather is around that time? Does it rain a lot? Is it cold? :)

I think I should mention I'm from the Caribbean, so anything less than 80 degrees is definitely cold for me. :rotfl:

Layers! The temperature varies a lot in December, from mid-80's and humid to very cold (40's) and dry. If 80+ is your comfort zone, you'll always want a sweatshirt or hoodie available. At night I put a jacket over that and add a scarf and hat.

Gah, alright! It sounds quite chilly for me then! Thank you for the reply! I'll make sure to bring some jackets and a hoodie with me!

We've been doing WDW in early December for 20+ years and our experience has been varied to say the least. Probably the most notable thing is pretty much a lack of rain. Yes, it may rain (and I recall getting rained out of one MVMCP) but that's rather unusual so don't worry about rain.

But temperatures are an entirely different issue. We have pictures from one year where we were wearing shorts/t-shirts on Friday and heavy winter coats on Monday. The best strategy is to pack layers. Some combination of t-shirt/polo + sweater/sweatshirt + windbreaker/light jacket will be appropriate for whatever you encounter.

About 10 days before you head for WDW, start checking the long range forecast for WDW (www.weather.com and use 32830 for the location) to get an idea of what is coming. But don't believe that's really going to happen. Use this only for a guide as to the extremes of weather you may encounter while you are there so you can adjust your packing to suit.

And don't worry if you make the wrong choices - you'll have plenty of opportunity to buy appropriate clothing there. :teacher:

Be sure and check the 10-day forecast on weather.com before you go. The weather can be very difficult to predict. We go every December. Some years it has been in the 80's or 90's during the day and 60's and 70's at night, then other years it has been in the 50's during the day and in the 40's at night.

Thank you! I'm definitely packing long sleeved shirts and jackets. I don't really want to put gloves (don't want to look too weird :p) and hopefully it won't be that cold!

Thank you for all the hints! I'll make sure to go warm!

Depending on what the forecast is, you won't look weird with gloves on. Believe me, I've worn gloves many times, especially around the lakes and Fantasmic. If it's chilly, you'll be glad you have gloves.

I went last December and it was a little chilly, so I just brought along a hoodie and wore jeans. At night, I thought it was chilly, especially sitting and waiting for Fantasmic.

Definitely bring those gloves. We were down there the second week of Dec serveral years ago. We had packed gloves, but didn't think we needed them that first day, so left them in the room. We round up going to DTD one night and almost froze. My mom went into the store at DTD and paid big bucks for a pair of those thin cheap gloves that you can get at Wal Mart 2 pairs/$5.00. I didn't know Florida could get that cold. We wore heavy coats, scarves, hats, and gloves the rest of the week.

I'm supposed to leave this Saturday for WDW and already have my gloves and a hat out to pack.

It definitely varies a lot in December, so be prepared. Even on days where the temps are in or near 80's, the nights get rather chilly.

We are from Canada....we have our back yard rink all ready and it has a thin skim of ice on it and my son is still only wearing a hoodie to school...we havent hauled out the winter coats or mittens yet...but I will pack them for our Christmas trip just in case...thanks for the info disers!

I guess my mom was right after all. :D Thank you for the help! I'll definitely bring some gloves then!

Thanks everyone!
