Regional Differences

Even like these?:

OMG those are some big shoes! Sorry!

Your giant shoes would look great with a pair of nice jeans.

I grew up on the Gulf coast of Florida and we drank unsweet tea (a lot of our friends did) and everyone I knew would rather go to a soccer game than a football game, and Coke was the brand, "soda" was the generic term. But we did eat a lot of seafood, in fact many weekends were spent off Anclote Key catching scallops off the sailboat (that we would eat later accompanied by our unsweet tea :lmao:)
:goodvibes

I lived in Chicago in the mid-80s and NO ONE ate fish. There was one decent fish restaurant which was EXPENSIVE!!!! and even as a college student I saved my money to eat there because there was no where else to get decent fish. I would come home for school break and the first thing I would ask for dinner was fish (the second thing was real pizza).

To each their own, but a little heal and nice jeans look way better than jeans and tennis shoes IMHO. More people wear heels with jeans than tennis shoes, I say they can't all be wrong. And are in the fashion mags. In fact I can't think of anyone that I know of that wears tennis shoes with jeans. Definite fashion no no, old and matronly. But wear what you want.

I like them both. If I'm running errends or it's jeans day at work, I might wear a nice pair of running shoes with my jeans and so do my friends (doesn't look matronly on them at all), but if Dh and I are going out for a casual dinner and the movies, I might wear a pair of casual heals with jeans.

Y'all wear whatever shoes you want, with what you want. After having four foot surgeries and have other issues with my feet, I will be wearing what my podiatrist tells me and (Gasp!) running shoes with good support! I am not supposed to wear heels, flip flops, sandals, clogs etc, unless I want to aggravate the problems with my feet.

So if you see me walking down the street wearing jeans and running shoes, shorts and running shoes, etc, just give me an old fashioned "Bless her heart"

Oh, back to the regional stuff, grits aren't grits if they are from a little package that says just add hot water.

Ok, so what exactly ARE grits? What are they made from???

I think flip flops or heals look ridiculous with jeans personally :lmao::lmao: Jeans are casual, heals are NOT. Flip flops are summer attire, jeans are not. :lmao:

Crocks look adorable on little kids

Wow... sounds like Minnesota fashion ideas are a lot different than Texas ideas!

Jeans can be dressy or casual. Heels with nice jeans can be very upscale-casual.

And flip-flops (as well as jeans) are year round wear, and can range from cheap-around-the-pool types to cute embelleshed and blinged-out platforms!

Why did you have to say grits..........now I am craving them!

Unfortunately, there is no where around here to get any good grits!

Not when it is -40 out side with 5 feet of snow on the ground...:lmao:

Pretty much they are coarsely ground corn, you cook them in water for about 15-20 minutes until the corn absorbs the water and expands. Makes sure you stir them enough so they don't get all clumpy. Once I have them on my plate, I like to either add pepper and a little butter to them. Sometimes I add shredded cheese to make cheese grits.

At some restaurants grits are also served as a main dish with a meat, for example shrimp and grits are rather popular and rather yummy.

I wear heels with jeans all the time. The higher the better!! I mostly wear skinny jeans but have a few pair of bootcut too. I also wear flip-flops with jeans. I don't wear sneakers with jeans but only because I only wear sneakers to exercise. Not a fan of sneakers(on me) at all.

They are messed up cream of wheat, or what the south serves because they don't know hoe to make decent hash browns..... LOL :rotfl2:

I'm from Philly...... would anyone like to discuss SCRAPPLE?

Yeah, and to a few people this looks stupid. Mental note, sure, some tennis shoes would look so much better than this, WRONG, no more listening to these peoples opinions.

YOu may not be able to wear heels or other shoes, but there is no way that you can say tennis shoes would look better than this. Well you can, but I don't know how.

NOt even close to cream of wheat, they are made from corn. Cream of wheat is like a hot cereal, grits aren't, not even close. And yes we do know how to make decent hash browns.

Well those two ladies could probably pull off anything, including barefoot :rotfl:. But the rest of us normal people...
