I am a first time cruiser and have questions and need help.

I would like to rent a room at Atlantis, which day would I make my ressies for? I went on the disney website and was a little confused...They have 4-night cruise options//Day at Sea or at Freeport...Is this something new?

My cruise is May 12, 2002....will I have the day at sea or at Freeport?

Thanks for the help.

I am on your cruise also. We have a day at sea and do not go to Freeport. Our day in Nassau will be the 13th, so that is when you would want your reservation. However, I don't know how the Atlantis handles it when you just want a "day room." You might need to check with them to determine if you can book a day room for the 13th, or if you have to book an overnight - which could be the 12th or 13th.

By the way, DREGO626, the cheapest room at Atlantis can run about $325 that time of year - unless you get a special deal.

Are you aware that you can book a room at the Comfort Suites across the street from Atlantis for a lot less, and still have complete access to Atlantis? We did this in February and it was completely worth it for our family, the place is magnificent!

I didn't know if DREGO626 particularly wanted a room at Atlantis, or just wanted the beach and pool access. I knew about Comfort Suites and I know a lot of people opt for that. How much is it this time of year? I'm sure that would be a much more affordable option for them.

We had a government rate of $176 before taxes and some other fee. Our total came to $212. I know there was an internet users rate and AAA rate, I think those rates were only $10-15 more. I think the Atlantis rates were around $350 for something comparable. Also, I have a 12 year old son who would have been charged an additional $45 at Atlantis as an extra adult. At Comfort Suites, he is still considered a child. Again, we traveled in February so I'm not really sure what May rates would be, but that at least gives you some idea.

Still expensive, but sure sounds better than $325-$350! I know you either have to get a room at Atlantis or Comfort Suites to use the beach and pool. But it was DREGO626 who asked . . Are you out there DREGO626? What do you think?

I'm back, sorry..I've been busy with getting ready for Easter.

What I really would like/want is access to Atlantis's pools. I have a 8 year old son and I know he would have such a great time, and I also, have heard great things about Atlantis.. I have to say the Comfort Inn pricing looks very good.

I have a questions, would I have to go to the Comfort Inn and check in and then head over to Atlantis.. Sorry with all the questions, I'm a newbie and this is my first cruise ever.

Also, I went to the Comfort Inn website, would I have to make my reservation for May 12? I saw that check in is 3:00 p.m and check out is 11:00 am.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Dina,
If your cruise departs May 12, you will probably be in Nassau May 13, but find out for sure. Your Nassau day is the day you would reserve the room at Comfort Suites. You do need to go to Comfort Suites first to check in, so take the cab directly to Comfort Suites. It is then only a short walk across the street to get to Atlantis. You do not need to go back to Comfort Suites to check out. At Comfort Suites, they will give you a voucher that you will take with you over to Atlantis. You will exchange the voucher for wristbands that allow you pool/slide access.

Even though check in time is at 3:00, you can get your voucher right away. We were at the Atlantis pools, all settled in, around 10:00. Have a great time, it is a wonderful place!

Dina, as I mentioned, I am on the May 12 cruise also. The itinerary from DCL does state that our day in Nassau is the 13th. I'm sure you will love Atlantis!

We are also on the 5/12 Wonder! We were planning on the Blue lagoon Beach excursion, but for the extra money, may now decide to do the comfort suites and spend the day at Atlantis. I have an 8 year old son too!!! Has anyone ever split the cost with another family, is there any way to do that??? Thanks, Sue

I've heard there is a limit to the number of people per room - in other words, they will only issue the wristbands (entitling you to use of the Atlantis facilities, beach, pool) for the number of people booked in the room. Can anyone confirm?

I believe they allow 4 wrist band per room...I'm not sure, but I remember reading it on one of the boards.

Splitting the cost would be great though.

Well, I just reserved the Comfort Suites for $157. I figure for the extra money ($50 more than Blue Lagoon), we will really enjoy the pools, waterslides, aquarium, Atlantis Beaches, plus a place for Grandma to go to if she needs a rest. You only live once, right? Maybe we will see you there? -Sue

We rented the room at Comfort Suites in January. You will have to go the CS first and check in. You can check in as early as you want and they will give you a voucher/receipt. You then take that to the Atlantis. It is just a short walk through the parking lot. We are a family of 5 and only paid for one room so I was worried that they would only give me 4 wristbands. My parents were with us and they had no desire to use the beach or the pool, but they did want to see the aquarium. They charge $25 per person to do this. DH showed them our voucher and they asked how many were in our party, DH said 7 and they let us all through! After we walked through all the tunnels, mom and dad went to the casino, and we headed to the pools. You get the wristband from the towel stands. We gave them the voucher and they put wristbands on DH & I and our 3 kids. No questions asked. I figured that if they would only give us 4 wristbands I would hang with mom and dad! We had a great day. The grounds are beautiful. I would highly recommend this.

Try and go as early as possible. It does take a while to check in and walk around the aquarium. My kids did not want to leave! We paid $220 including the room tax in January, so $157 sounds great! Have fun!

We are leaving on 4/14. I booked at room at Atlantis for $265 on expedia.com. The Comfort Suites was more ($270)! I wish I could have gotten your rates.

I was told by a neighbor who booked a room in February at the Atlantis, that she shared the cost with another family. She asked for 2 room keys and she gave one of the keys to the other family. Both families just showed their room key and all got a wristbands from the towel station.

I just booked my room at the Comfort Suites....The rate was 196.50 not including taxes....still a great deal.
