Regarding posts on the Community Board

There has been some confusion as of late regarding the moving of certain posts from this board to other boards on the site. In an effort to keep everyone informed, let me explain why we do this. Since the inception of the site, we have had issues with off-topic posts. In the early days, the Theme Parks board was where everyone congregated. Eventually, we had posts on every conceivable topic, and people looking for theme park info had to sort through lots of off topic posts to find it. So, we created more targeted forums as demand dictated. That is where all the forums on this site have come from. The Community Board was created to get the "how are you" posts off the trip planning forums. I have asked the moderators to move any post that appear on this (or any other) forum to the appropriate forum when necessary. DISMeets belong on the DISMeets board, Recipes on the recipe board, etc. We are averaging more than 6,000 posts per day across the entire site and the numbers that are actually moved are very small. Still, with that many posts, we have to try to keep everything as organized as possible. The moderators will continue to move posts as necessary. If anyone needs more clarification on this, please feel free to email me at webmaster@wdwinfo.com

Hey Pete I could have sworn you once PM’ed me that you created the CB(oard) so my posts would have a home. I know you didn’t want people to know that the C in CB(oard) was really for Charlie,nj…but I think it is time we let the cat out of the bag.

For your INFORMATION corn came to the DIS way after the CB was born. (you call yourself a DISer… and you didn’t even know that little piece of history..ha) I was around way before corn pal and way before you for that matter. Oh OK yes maybe I am a little jealous of you. I am glad it is all coming out on a thread that Pete himself started. Sorry for high jacking your “important” thread Pete but this is something that’s been brewing for quite some time. It might even be the root cause of the CB problem.(if there is one that is) Hey Pete let me give you a little advice… I noticed you don’t have many replies on this thread…I have found that DISer’s like to reply to DISer’s who have a nice number of posts under their belt. I see you only have 581 posts…hmmm maybe you should do something about bumping that number up. (even if it means giving Alex a few extra bucks to change it “behind the scenes” so to speak)

I was the “king of the hill” baby…”top of the world” ….before you showed up Willy. I had DISer’s begging me to post one of my wacky threads over on the IB…which BTW was THE place to be in the early days of the DIS. (boy do I ever miss my “IB girls” you know who you are) Why I even had “the man” himself post a few times on my threads. OK so some of them were warnings to “cease and desist”… but it doesn’t matter..a reply from Pete is an honor in any form.

I remember that dark day when you showed up all too well. I noticed a thread was surpassing one of my threads in both reply and view counts. How could that be? Was it some kind of computer glitch? Was Alex “playing around” again? Who would dare out do me? It was YOU with your corn and 10-dollar words! (oh I cried..yes real men do cry) Ever since that day you just did your best to out do me…and unfortunately you seem to have accomplished just that. Hear my word…I will never ever lay down my sword dude. I vow to fight the good fight…with or without high reply and view counts. In my old age I have learned to go for quality not quantity. I save up and try to put out a quality thread and hope for a few quality replies. (which I do seem to get) I don’t really care if your brainwashed little flock posts on one of my threads anymore. But I will tell you this I know for a fact that your little crew views my threads… as a matter of fact I will put money on it that YOU yourself probably makeup 60% of my view count. What’s the matter Willy scared of the competition…afraid I might rise up again? Don’t worry Willy “the rising” IS in deed coming.

Hey Willy I will leave you with two thoughts:

1- no matter how hard you try you will never be a Jersey man like Pete and me. You can listen to all of the Bruce music you want. But you will never know that special feeling of being born and bred in New Jersey. (and where do you get off calling Bruce ..Bruce…only Jersey people can call him Bruce) You will never experience the warm feeling of chromium flowing through your veins. Or the hacking cough you develop from years of inhaling the fumes of the oil refineries let alone the smell of “talo”. (somebody’s gonna be eating good tonight)You will never know the humiliation of having a New Yorker yell out to you ..”Hey buddy what exit?”. God I feel sorry for you. (hmmm wait a minute does anyone know the life expectancy of a person with chromium poisoning?)(Is there a doctor in the house?)


2- How many times can you say Pete posted on one of your threads? Not many right? Well like I said Pete use to post on my threads quite a lot. (that is before he became a multimillionaire) I have the proof too! Here’s a few of Pete’s replies:

Ah Zurg it does the cockles (can we say dat on da DIS?) of my heart good to see da different families getting along on dis thread. We have the Jersey, Philly, and Boston families intermingling. Ah it reminds me of dem good old days on da CB. Everybody was one big happy “family”. Everyone seemed to follow the leave your “piece” at the door policy. It was a beautiful thing.

Look at da mess we got now…you know sometin ever since they locked Johnny G up things have been going nutzy. Maybe we need a new Don to take control of the joint. I was thinking Pete was going to go wit that Canadian dame CC. (I heard she has a great set of gams). I was wrong she up and left the CB just like Frankie boy.

As long as we are talkin let me give youz a little history lessin. The DIS was not always a Disney site…I heard this from some reliable “sources” (so OK they was a couple of “rats”) Back in the day Pete was dreaming of somethin ta do in his basement back in Jersey. He was eating a Hershey’s chocolate bar. (he was hooked on the stuff) He just got a new computer and was “playin” around. All of a sudden he comes up wit the idea of having a site you can go to, ta get information for a fun vacation. He named the site “THIS” (The Hershey Information Station) he was so proud of the name and the site. He traveled all over the east coast preaching about his Hershey site. He even came up wit the slogan “log on to “THIS” for a real treat”.. Unfortunately every time he mentioned the name of da site..all of the dopey people thought he was sayin “DIS” what he really was sayin was “THIS”. (dang foreigners)

He had to go and change his whole idea from a Hershey site to a Disney site. (all because of a few people’s who don’t know how to hear right) Dat’s how the DIS (Disney Information Station) was born folks. (hey Pete I bet you didn’t even know dat fact about your self..go figuire)
