Does anyone know if the Apple Stores (or any other store) sell refurbished iPods?

I've purchased a few online from Apple, but DD has decided that she needs a new iPod before we leave for Hawaii on Tuesday. :scared1:

Buy.com has them but I would stay far away. I bought one for my DD there and it worked for about a couple of months. Then they gave me a hard time about fixing/exchanging it. Also, it looked like someone took it apart and then glued it back together. I would buy directly from Apple if you're looking to go used.

I found this online. Seems to be differing answers. I guess you would need to call them???

You might luck our and find a floor model somewhere--That would be very random though.

Could you have one shipped to hotel. Prob cost a lot though, and more time involved.

My DD does stuff like this. Last month we were on our way to the airport, when she informed me that she couldn't find her phone charger for the past few days. :headache:

Does she already have an ipod? In which case my answer would be no. 2 days before a big trip - I would not want to spend more money on a new or refurbished ipod.

If she doesn't already have an ipod - and you get a new one (refurb or new) how much would be spent on i-tunes to make in a short period of time to establish her play lists?

Sorry - I would have to veto this request. Mostly because 2 days before a big trip - who has time, not to mention the money. The DD should have mentioned this about a month ago or so, in which case my answer might have been a bit different.

ETA - If you are not taking a computer with you - you'll probably need a wall charger. And - assuming you will be traveling for a fair amount of time to get to Hawaii, "tune juice" isn't a bad idea either! I do have a teen - and while we keep her fairly technologically current, I couldn't even imagine taking her on a long trip without an ipod.

DD is purchasing this with her own money and doing the running around. ;)

She's been talking about getting a new one for awhile since the one she hasn't won't hold a charge.

We called around and none of the Apple stores had them. She decided to order online with next day shipping and hope it ships tomorrow and gets here Tues. If not, she'll take the old one with (we're bringing one laptop with).

I've never heard of "tune juice". I'll have to look into that.

Why doesn't she just get the battery replaced?

Overstock.com has had some in the past. I didn't check for you now, but you could.
