It doesn't matter to me what other people do - only what I do (and what the people I'm responsible for do). I was just offering an example of why people might care.

that the WDW refillable cups hold 8 oz or so, a royal waste of time walking to food court to get them filled imo. Grab a couple of cases of bottledwhatever on ur way into the park or have them delivered...no fuss, no muss. But businesses that experience shoplifting to such a degree that it starts impacting their projected gross, or goes beyond their projected shrink, enforce policy's to help prevent it before or in conjunction with price increases.
Disney isn't raising prices on soda because people are stealing it, if that were the case they would be enforcing the rule about not reusing the mugs, which they apparently are not.
it is nice to be able to have a thread with differing opinions without the flames.
im sure it's already been mentioned in the thread that i skimmedthat the WDW refillable cups hold 8 oz or so, a royal waste of time walking to food court to get them filled imo. Grab a couple of cases of bottledwhatever on ur way into the park or have them delivered...no fuss, no muss.
If you're not allowed to bring in outside food, then why do they allow you to bring in soft sided coolers? No where in the park rules does it say "no outside food, or beverage". I don't bring lunch in, but I do bring snacks for dd, and a couple of waters, and security never says anything. My local water park has a big sign that says, "no outside food or beverages". They made me throw away my dd's goldfish crackers, and tried to make my friend throw away her bottle of nursery water she brought to make her 9 month old a bottle!! (we got a manager on that one). I would just like to see where you are technically not allowed to bring in outside food, because I never heard of that rule, and I worked at disney.
Disney did in fact relax these requirements over the years and updated their websites etc to reflect the changes..
I know that when I went a few years ago =- those restrictions WERE in place but they are clearly not now.

Amen sista.
Actually they hold 14 oz with no ice..(regardless of which mug style you have) I find I can get a full can of pop (12 oz?) into one without much trouble provided I go 'light' with the ice..
But for those who like almost a half cup of ice with their drink.. yeah.. they're getting closer to 8oz of fluid.

BUT, you can bring back a water park mug. You just have to pay the for the new day sticker. The water park mugs are good for the day you buy them. But they let you buy another day sticker (and they put it over the old sticker) so you can reuse the mug. You just have to pay for the sticker.
They usually sell the new day sticker at the entrance of the water park. And I think they are about $5 or 6.
When I get my new sticker, I always get a comment from the CM about how old my water park mug is. I think they have had three or four different mugs since I got mine many years ago.
). My blizzard beach mug is very faded, but I keep it for sentimental reasons. I'm going to buy a new souvenir travel mug (not necessarily a refillable one) this time around and make sure the danged thing is cupholder friendly! The one I have from 2005 is HUGE!!!
After much arguing with my grandmother over the looks of our forever mugs I am pleased to announce we have decided to bring them back as opposed to the ones we bought last year!
Not sure if this helps or not but this is what the Mom Panel on the WDW website stated about bringing in your own food and drinks. Not sure if it is legal or not since it's just the Mom Panel but they really seem to know their rules and regs on there. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2444689&goto=newpost
As you probably know, this is a very hot topic on some of the other Walt Disney Boards. The current policy with refillable mugs is that you should only use them at the resort where they were purchased, and only for the duration of your stay at that resort.

Not sure if this will help anyone or not.
I have read on here from other posters who say the mugs which were sold with no rules written on them are the ones which were good on all future visits, so if guests had them and wanted to bring them back then technically they wouldn't be doing anything wrong.
