We are staying our first 2 nights at Pop and then changing to ASMU, only because I couldn't get reservations for 7 nights at one resort. Although I'm assuming the answer is no, if I purchase a refillable mug at Pop I can't use it at the music resort, is that correct?

Last August everywhere we stayed had the same refillable mug. This included, Saratoga Springs, Wilderness lodge, Animal kingdom and Vero beach.
Hope it has not changed.

I'm not saying whether or not I do this,;) but now that the mugs are identical, there is no way to distinguish whether or not you bought the mug at which resort. You will be fine using the mug you bought at Pop at ASMusic.

When we stayed at Pop/AKL in Mat I was told at both CS that it was ok because it is your lenght of stay on Property.. And not to stir but at Pop I was everything being refill mugs from all resorts & water bottles & other travel mugs being filled.

You should be able to use it for the entirety of your stay....even if you are staying at 2 different resorts.

Yes and the wording on the new ( YOAMD) mugs reflex just that.

It use to say at the place your purchased for length of stay and now it's something like Just length of stay or duration of stay.

So 06 was a no no and now is a OK.

The mugs you purchase at Pop Century can still be used when you check into All Star Movies, so don't worry about it.

I never understood the whole refillable mug craze. How much does soda cost? And how much do you drink at the resort?

Stop at Wal-Mart on the way to the resort and buy a case of Coke.

I buy the mugs, because I drink more than just soda. It's easier to buy a mug, than to try and stock up on every beverage I may want. I do tend to drink a lot, because we like to stay in preferred locations, so we are close to the food court. I like to stop in the mornings and after we get back from the park (we drive, so I don't have to lug a bunch of mugs around with us). Plus, if we are on the DDP, we would get water with our meals (take those to the parks) and use our mugs with meals.

It doesn't make sense for everyone though.

lol what a simplistic view, maybe they want variety, maybe they want it cold, maybe they dont want to go to WalMart, maybe they want the mug as a souvenier, maybe they drink way more than a case of soda in a week, maybe they dont want to pujt 24 soda cans back into the environment when they could simply use 1 mug which they keep afterwards.

Maybe they want to bring the mug back down for their next 10 trips to Disney instead of buying a new one.

Just like everything else that changes people are going to keep giving out old information. When they changed mugs they also changed the writing on the mug and the policy. You are allowed to use the mugs at any resort with possible exception of CSR, for the length of stay in which you bought them. to me a split but continuous stay is the same stay.
So yes you can use the mugs at both places.
